The washing machine includes an auxiliary door through which laundry is additionally put in, indicates whether additionally putting-in of laundry during the operation of the washing machine is allowed, and enables a user to determine the same, in order to provide an algorithm for safely operating the auxiliary door, and checks a rotation of a drum, a temperature of the inside, and a level of water when it is desired to additionally put laundry in, so as to enable the user to safely put the laundry in. Also, when the user additionally puts laundry in while the washing machine performs a cycle, the washing machine changes a cycle profile for each cycle, and corrects a cycle profile according to an additional put-in point, thereby raising reliability of the user for the washing machine.

Chemical dosing system

Disclosed herein is a chemical dosing system for an appliance, such as a laundry washing machine or a dishwashing machine, having a water inlet, the system comprising a meter for determining the volume of water supplied to the appliance, a pump for dispensing a quantity of a chemical to the appliance and a control unit arranged to receive a signal from the meter and to cause to be dispensed to the appliance a volume of chemical that is proportional to the quantity of water supplied to the appliance. The disclosed system may enable a correct quantity of chemical to be automatically dispensed to many types of appliance, without the need to know anything about the appliance, or to derive electrical signal from the appliance.

A washing machine appliance includes a wash tub positioned within a cabinet, a water supply configured to selectively dispense wash fluid into the wash tub, and a conductivity sensor for measuring an electrical conductivity of the wash fluid collected in the wash tub. A controller is configured to receive a request to perform a self-clean cycle, supply a predetermined amount of wash fluid into the wash tub using the water supply, measure an initial conductivity of the wash fluid in the wash tub using the conductivity sensor, measure a final conductivity of the wash fluid in the wash tub a predetermined amount of time after measuring the initial conductivity using the conductivity sensor, determine that the self-clean cycle is needed based at least in part on the initial conductivity and the final conductivity, and perform the self-clean cycle.

A dryer appliance is provided, including a cabinet, a drum, an outlet assembly, an exhaust sensor, and a fluid injector. The drum may be mounted within the cabinet and define a drying chamber. The outlet assembly may be attached to the drying chamber and include a conduit defining an exhaust passage in fluid communication with the drying chamber. The conduit may extend from an inlet at the drying chamber to an outlet. The conduit may further define an access port along the exhaust passage between the inlet and the outlet. The exhaust sensor may be disposed in communication with the exhaust passage. The fluid injector may be attached to the conduit between the inlet and the outlet, and be directed at the access port.

CLOTHES DRYER MAINTENANCE SAFETY REMINDER SYSTEM

A clothes dryer including a cabinet, a drum rotatably mounted in the cabinet, ductwork connected to the drum for circulating air, a heating element for providing heat to the drum, and a control system for operating the clothes dryer. The control system includes a warning indicator and a control module. The control module monitors and tracks usage of the clothes dryer. The warning indicator provides first and second warnings to a user based on the usage. The first warning indicates that factory authorized service is required to clean inside the cabinet of the clothes dryer, and the second warning indicates that the heating element has been disabled until the factory authorized service occurs. Preferably, the control module is further operative to completely disable the clothes dryer based on the usage.
