Tumble dryer
The present disclosure relates to a tumble dryer (1) comprising a housing (2), a rotatable drum (11) in the housing being accessible from a front side (3) of the housing, and a fan arrangement (13) for producing a flow of process air through the drum. A heat pump is used for drying the process air before it enters the drum, the heat pump comprising a condenser (19), a compressor (17), and an evaporator (15). The condenser 19 the compressor (17), and the evaporator (15) are arranged as components in a heat pump unit (43), wherein the heat pump unit is removable from the remainder of the tumble dryer (1) through an opening in the rear side of the tumble dryer housing without separating the components. This facilitates for instance service of the tumble dryer.
COMBINATION LAUNDRY APPLIANCE WITH IMPROVED DRYING
A laundry appliance includes a cabinet and a tub mounted within an interior volume of the cabinet. A laundry basket is rotatably mounted within the tub. The laundry basket defines a chamber for the receipt of articles for treatment. The laundry appliance also includes a heating system coupled to the tub. The heating system is in thermal communication with the chamber such that heated air flows from the heating system to the chamber. The laundry appliance further includes a controller. The controller may be configured for, and methods of operating the appliance may include, providing a flow of a liquid into a tub of the laundry appliance, rotating a laundry basket within the tub after providing the flow of the liquid into the tub, and activating the heating system of the laundry appliance during at least a portion of the step of rotating the laundry basket.
CONDENSER TUMBLE DRYER COMPRISING A TEMPERATURE SENSOR, AND METHOD FOR THE OPERATION THEREOF
The invention relates to a condenser tumble dryer with a drum for articles to be dried, a drive motor for the drum, a process air duct, a process air blower, a heating and cooling system for the process air, a temperature sensor and a control device. The temperature sensor is an infrared telescope and is arranged to simultaneously measure heat radiation from at least two components of the condenser tumble dryer which are to be monitored. The invention also relates to a method for operating a condenser tumble dryer of said type.
Method for controlling a laundry dryer including a fan motor for driving a drying air stream fan with a variable speed
A method is provided for controlling a laundry dryer including a fan motor (26) for driving a drying air stream fan (18) with a variable speed (vf) and a drum motor (28) for driving a laundry drum (12). The method comprises the steps of setting a predetermined course for the speed (vd) of the drum motor (28), maintaining the speed (vd) of the drum motor (28) according to the predetermined course for the speed (vd) of said drum motor (28), detecting a power (Pd) or a current absorbed by the drum motor (28), and controlling the speed (vf) of the fan motor (26) on the basis of the absorbed power (Pd) or current of the drum motor (28). The speed (vf) of the fan motor (26) increases with a decreasing absorbed power (Pd) or current of the drum motor (28) and/or the speed (vf) of the fan motor (26) decreases with an increasing absorbed power (Pd) or current of the drum motor (28).
LINT FILTER CLOGGING DETECTION IN A DRYER APPLIANCE USING COMPRESSOR TEMPERATURE AND REFERIGERANT MASS FLOW
A laundry appliance uses a determination of a frequency of compressor temperature response, refrigerant mass flow rate, or both to determine accumulation of lint in a filter. Based on the determination, various corrective actions can be taken including notifying the user, shutting off the appliance, initiating an automatic cleaning sequence for one or more lint filters, and combinations thereof.
