A multi-link device includes a load tension pin including a sensor configured to measure tension applied to the load tension pin, network interface hardware, one or more processors, and one or more memory modules storing computer readable and executable instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the multi-link device to: determine whether the tension measured by the load tension pin exceeds a threshold value; and transmit, by the network interface hardware, load event data to a receiver in response to determination that the tension exceeds the threshold value.

PATIENT SUPPORT USABLE WITH BARIATRIC PATIENTS

A patient support includes a height adjustable patient support deck, at least one guard structure mounted for movement relative to the patient support deck, and a latch operable to lock the position of the guard structure in a raised position. The patient support further includes a CPR release operable to lower the head deck section of the patient support deck to place the patient support in an emergency state and further operable to release the latch to allow the guard rail structure to lower or be lowered from the raised position.

Patient support usable with bariatric patients

A patient support includes a height adjustable patient support deck, at least one guard structure mounted relative to the patient support deck along a side of the patient support, with the guard structure movable both vertically and laterally along the side of the patient support, and the guard structure positionable beneath at least the patient support deck. The patient support further includes a control system configured to determine whether the guard structure is located beneath the patient support deck and to enable or disable a function of the patient support and/or to adjust a parameter of the patient support when the guard structure is located beneath the patient support deck.

Skin injury resistant occupant support structures and methods for resisting skin injuries

An occupant support structure for supporting an occupant includes an orientation adjustable torso section, a lower body section, and a control system. The lower body section includes a heel region subsection which supports the heel region of an occupant of the occupant support. The control system is adapted to A) cause the heel region subsection to temporarily substantially disengage from the heel region of the occupant in response to a change of angular orientation of the torso section which begins at a time t.sub.0, and B) cause the heel region subsection to subsequently re-engage with the heel region of the occupant, the re-engagement occurring at a time t.sub.B which is later than t.sub.0.

PATIENT SUPPORT USABLE WITH BARIATRIC PATIENTS

A patient support may be adjustable in height, width, length or a combination thereof. The patient support may be usable with normal sized patients or with bariatric patients. The patient support has a variety of features to enhance operability and/or functionality, including a width adjustable caster frame, width adjustable deck portions, a width adjustable headboard and an extendible foot board to provide extra length. An enhanced lift mechanism can accommodate bariatric patients and alternative functionality in achieving deck positions improves patient comfort. Various parts of the patient support including deck panels and the footboard may be removed and replaced with ease without complicated connectors.

A Reclining Chair and Method of Use Thereof

A reclining chair includes a frame and a back part with a back support slidably connected to a back frame hinged on a frame rotation point on the frame. A seat part, including a seat frame and a seat, is pivotably connected to the back frame at a chair joint. A reclining mechanism includes an arm pivot point fixed to the frame. A first arm extends from the arm pivot point to a second arm at an arm suspension point. The second arm is pivotably connected to the chair joint. When the back part reclines from an upright position, the back frame rotates, the first arm rotates, the chair joint moves towards the seat part, and a connecting arm extending from the back support and mechanically linked to the first arm and the second arm pulls the back support so the back support slides towards the seat part.
