High lap shear strength, low back face signature UD composite and the process of making
Fabrication of ballistic resistant fibrous composites having improved ballistic resistance properties. More particularly, ballistic resistant fibrous composites having high interlaminar lap shear strength between component fiber plies or fiber layers, which correlates to low composite backface signature. The high lap shear strength, low backface signature composites are useful for the production of hard armor articles, including helmet armor.

Fabric print media
The present disclosure is drawn to a fabric print medium. The fabric print medium can include a treated fabric base substrate, an adhesion promoting layer, and an image-receiving layer. The treated fabric base substrate can include a fabric base substrate having a water proofing treatment including a water-repellant agent applied thereto. The adhesion promoting layer can be applied to the treated fabric base substrate. The adhesion promoting layer can include a first polymeric binder and a physical networking component. The image-receiving layer can be applied to the adhesion promoting layer. The image-receiving layer can include a second polymeric binder and a particulate filler.
Conformable colored multilayer composite fabrics
An adhesive layer carrying a uniform color or a color-scheme is placed within or under a colored or color-printed conformable fabric that is simultaneously or subsequently molded into a three-dimensional shape or embossed with a three-dimensional pattern. The thermoplastic adhesive layer proceeds towards the fabric surface and matches or masks the color gaps opened on the surface by molding or embossing. The fabric can also be laminated to a backing during the molding or embossing process.
BALLISTIC TRANSLATION EFFICIENCY OF HIGH PERFORMANCE FIBERS
A method for improving the translation efficiency of fiber strength into composite strength is provided. A single unidirectional tape, single unidirectional fiber web or a stack of unidirectional web/unidirectional tape plies formed from partially oriented fibers/tapes is primed under mild conditions followed by subjecting the primed plies to an axial extension stress in the axial fiber direction of each fiber ply by passage through a compression apparatus. The axial extension stress extends the fibers, strengthening them, while also compacting the plies together and thereby forming a composite having improved strength. Production yield is improved by avoiding maximal fiber stretching and thereby avoiding typical manufacturing loss, and low weight composite armor having increased strength is achieved.

THERMALLY FIXABLE TEXTILE FABRIC
A thermally fixable textile fabric, particularly useful as a fixable interlining, lining, and/or outer fabric in a textile industry, includes: a carrier material comprising a melt-blown non-woven fabric. The carrier material has flock fibers on one side and a hot-melt adhesive on a side facing away from the flock fibers.
Composite panel, composite material, impregnator and method for manufacturing a composite panel
An impregnator for impregnating a fabric layer comprising: a chamber, the chamber being structured and arranged so as to retain a binding composition in a fluid state; a first opening being structured and arranged so as to allow the fabric layer entering the chamber in a dry state from a top portion of the chamber to be dived into the binding composition; and a second opening extending along the longitudinal axis of a bottom portion of the chamber, the second opening being structured and arranged to allow the fabric layer to exit from the bottom portion of the chamber in an impregnated state, the second opening comprising a first lip structured and arranged to be in contact with a first surface of the fabric layer and a second lip structured and arranged to be in contact with a second surface of the fabric layer.
