METHOD FOR PREPARING LAMINATED PRECURSOR ROLLS
20210189640 · 2021-06-24 ·

Laminate precursors are prepared by applying an aqueous foamed opacifying composition to a non-woven fabric, drying, optionally applying an anti-blocking material to the dried aqueous foamed opacifying composition, and densifying the dry foamed opacifying layer so that it will have a thickness that is at least 20% less than its thickness before densifying. Each laminate precursor is rolled up for immediate or later use to make laminate decorative articles when the unrolled laminate precursor is laminated with back side of a decorative fabric. The applied aqueous foamed opacifying composition has 35%-70% solids and a foam density of 0.1-0.5 g/cm.sup.3. It is composed of (a) porous particles, (b) a binder material, (c) two or more additives comprising at least one foaming surfactant and at least one foam stabilizer, (d) an aqueous medium, and (e) an opacifying colorant that absorbs electromagnetic radiation having a wavelength of 380-800 nm.

FOAMABLE AND FOAMED TEXTILES, THE PROCESS OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME, AND ARTICLES INCORPORATING THE SAME

A textile component includes a yarn which includes a thermoplastic material. A blowing agent with at least activation condition is included into the textile, either by inclusion in the yarn or impregnating in the textile after forming an un-foamed textile. Upon triggering the activation condition of the blowing agent, the blowing agent introduces a plurality of cavities, i.e. cells, into the thermoplastic material. The textile then comprises a multicellular foam area of the textile wherein the multicellular foamed area comprises a multicellular foam surrounding a core yarn. The textile, in either its un-foamed or foamed condition, can be incorporated into a variety of articles, such as an article of footwear.

FOAMABLE YARNS, TEXTILES AND ARTICLES INCORPORATING FOAMABLE YARNS, AND THE PROCESS OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

An article, such as an article of footwear includes, a textile component. The textile component includes a yarn. The yarn includes a thermoplastic material and a blowing agent with an activation condition. Upon triggering the activation condition of the blowing agent, the blowing agent introduces a plurality of cavities, i.e. cells, into the thermoplastic material, creating a multicellular foam area of the textile.

KNITTED COMPONENT HAVING A FOAM SURFACE FEATURE

A knitted component may include a first area, where the first area includes a plurality of knit loops comprising a first yarn. The knitted component may also include a second yarn at least partially inlaid within the first area of the knitted component such that the second yarn extends between at least a first loop and a second loop of the plurality of knit loops. The second yarn may have a foamable material comprising a blowing agent and a thermoplastic polymer.

A foamed, opacifying element has a substrate with opposing planar surfaces and a foamed opacifying layer disposed on one opposing surface. The foamed opacifying layer contains (a) 0.1-80 weight % of nonporous polymeric particles; (b) 10-80 weight % of a matrix material derived from a (b) binder material having a glass transition temperature of less than 40 C.; (c) 0.0001-50 weight % of certain additives; (d) less than 5 weight % of water; and (e) at least 0.002 weight % of an opacifying colorant different from all of the (c) additives. Foamable and foamed aqueous compositions can be used to provide these foamed, opacifying elements for use as light-blocking window shades, curtains, or other materials. These light-blocking articles can also have a printable outer surface that accepts ink for making printed images that are not observable from the opposite surface.

FIRE-RETARDING COMPOSITION, PROCESS FOR PRODUCTION OF THE COMPOSITION, FIRE- RETARDING MIXTURE COMPRISING THE COMPOSITION AND TREATMENT OF FABRICS WITH THE COMPOSITION

A flame-retarding composition in the form of a homogeneous powder comprises a carbonaceous component at least partly functionalized with phosphate groups; and an ammonium phosphate compound. The invention also relates to a method for the production of such a composition, to a fire-retarding mixture in the form of a polymer dispersion comprising the powder composition and a water-based polymer emulsion, and to a method for treating a fabric comprising a step of applying a fire-retarding mixture comprising the composition onto a surface of the fabric and a step for heat treatment of the fabric.
