APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR APPLYING MATERIALS TO SUBSTRATES AND RELATED PRODUCTS
20200378062 · 2020-12-03 · ·

An apparatus and method for applying one or more materials, such as one or more additive materials, to a substrate. The substrate may be a fabric, fiber or yarn but not limited thereto. The apparatus includes an array of a plurality of applicators arranged in proximity to the substrate while the substrate is moving or in a static position. The applicators are arranged to deliver a mixture of one or more materials and a material delivery vehicle to the substrate sufficient to bond at least a portion of the one or more materials into the substrate or adhere the one or more materials to the surface of the substrate. The material delivery vehicle may be air. The applicators include nozzles configured to generate a dispersion pattern that provides substantially uniform and substantially complete coverage of the one or more materials onto and/or in the substrate. The apparatus may include an optional heater to warm the substrate to improve adhesion of the one or more materials on and into the substrate.

Stain Hiding Fabric With Metallic Coating

This invention relates to a method for hiding stains in medical dressings and other textile substrates. The method includes applying a metallic silver coating to a textile substrate via a plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVP) process. The metallic silver coating effectively hides any stain that comes into direct contact with the treated substrate by transferring the liquid beneath the surface of the coating. The invention also relates to textile substrates containing metallic silver coatings.

FRESHENER FOR SPACES AND OBJECTS

The freshener revealed here is used for perfuming and freshening various objects and spaces. It comprises several components, one of which is in the form of a capsule which contains a fragrance. The capsule may be a microcapsule or a nanocapsule. It is applied by spraying directly on the fabric or surface. A pleasant, floral fragrance smells from the first application, however, the specificity of this freshener is noticeable after it is dried on the treated surface. After application by spraying and the time of drying, in physical contact with the treated surface the capsules break and release the fragrance into the space. This freshener is used on all types of textiles, leather, artificial leather, but also on hard and less absorbent surfaces. Mechanic force/friction (sitting, walking and the like) cause the breaking of the fragrant capsules that remain on the fibres, thereby obtaining the additional boost of fragrance. By its very nature, the product is completely safe to use, it does not comprise hazardous components. These capsules provide longer lasting freshness because the fragrance is protected as long as the capsules are intact. Only after application of a force, by breaking capsules, pleasant fragrance is released.

USAGE OF MELT SPUN POLYOLEFIN FINE FIBERS FOR SKIN REGENERATION AND MESH IMPLANTATION

Described herein is the application of centrifugal spinning to provide a polypropylene (PP) nanofiber environment for cell growth. PP nanofiber mats, formed by centrifugal spinning are treated with one or more antimicrobial agents. The treated PP material was shown to have a 10 reduced rate of rejection and promote cell growth and proliferation.
