Ceramic Surface Modification Materials
Porous, binderless ceramic surface modification materials are described, and applications of use thereof. The ceramic surface material is in the form of an interconnected network of porous ceramic material on a substrate. The ceramic material may include a metal oxide, a metal hydroxide, and/or hydrates thereof, or a metal carbonate or metal phosphate, on a substrate surface. The substrate may be in the form of a metal or polymer particulate, powder, extrudate, or flakes.
Method for adding aromatics to a face covering
A method for infusing an aromatic essential oil into a face covering so as to provide a prolonged olfactory benefit to the wearer of the face covering. The method of the present invention includes utilization of specific unit volumes of an essential oil, a carrier oil and a cyclodextrin wherein the aforementioned are placed into a suitable container that is located in a temperature controlled environment. The ingredients are mixed so as to initiate the emulsification process and as such encapsulation of the oil components occurs. A dry sprayer is utilized to apply a portion of the mixture onto the face covering and immediately thereafter the face covering is placed in a storage container. The carrier oil is maintained at a temperature during introduction into the mixing container. The method of the present invention provides an olfactory release for an extended period of at least 12 hours.
Wearable triboelectric generator for energy harvesting
The present disclosure relates to a wearable water triboelectric generator, wherein the water triboelectric generator comprises a first substrate having a first surface and a second surface, wherein the first surface and the second surface are opposing to each other; and wherein the first surface comprises a modified hydrophobic surface comprising a coating of hydrophobic cellulose oleoyl ester nanoparticles. There is also provided a wearable dual mode water and contact triboelectric generator comprising said water triboelectric generator and a contact triboelectric generator, wherein the water triboelectric generator and the contact triboelectric generator are arranged such that the first substrate of the water triboelectric generator completely surrounds or encapsulates the contact triboelectric generator.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR THE FUNCTIONALIZATION OF POLYOLEFIN FIBERS
A system for the functionalization of polyolefin fiber includes a reactor chamber, a fiber pulley system, and a precursor sprinkler system. The reactor chamber defines an interior reactor space and a plurality of fiber inlet/outlet pairs positioned at opposite ends of respective fiber processing axes. The fiber pulley system is arranged to direct polyolefin fiber through the plurality of fiber inlet/outlet pairs, along a fiber processing path comprising the respective fiber processing axes. The precursor sprinkler system is operable to aerosolize a precursor solution and contact the aerosolized precursor solution with the polyolefin fiber. A method for functionalizing polyolefin fiber includes aerosolizing the precursor solution to form an aerosolized precursor solution, passing polyolefin fiber along the fiber pulley system into the reactor chamber, contacting the polyolefin fiber with the aerosolized precursor solution, and passing functionalized polyolefin fiber out of the interior reactor space of the reactor chamber.

Aqueous spray composition comprising silicone and perfume microemulsions
An aqueous fabric spray composition, comprising: a. 1-10 w.t. % silicone, wherein the silicone is in the form of an emulsion, the emulsion having a particle size of 1 nm to 150 nm b. Free perfume, having an emulsion particle size of 1 nm to 30 μm.
APPARATUS AND METHOD TO PROVIDE SINGLE-PLY PATHOGENICIDAL BARRIER BETWEEN FIRST AND SECOND REGIONS
A barrier is provided to be placed between a first region and a second region, to prevent passage of pathogens between the first and second regions. The barrier includes a single ply layer treated with pathogenicidal components. The single ply layer includes a first side directed toward the first region, and includes an outer surface coated with the pathogenicidal components such that pathogens in the first region are incident on the outer surface of the first side. The single ply layer also includes a second side directed toward the second region, and includes an outer surface coated with the pathogenicidal components such that pathogens in the second region are incident on the outer surface of the second side. The pathogenicidal components coated on the outer surfaces of the first and second side deactivate the pathogens incident on the outer surface of the respective first and second sides.
