METHODS AND DISINFECTING COVERS FOR USE IN DISINFECTING RESILIENT MEDICAL PATIENT PRESSURE REDISTRIBUTION SUPPORTS
A disinfecting cover for use in disinfecting a weight bearing upper surface of a resilient medical patient pressure redistribution support includes a thin barrier membrane drapable on top of the weight bearing upper surface of the resilient support, and a peripherally-extending edge terminating between the peripherally-extending side of the resilient support between the weight bearing upper surface and the bottom surface of the support. The thin barrier membrane comprises an anti-microbial disinfectant, and being non-fibrous, and impervious to the transfer of fluid from the first main surface to the second main surface. The thin barrier membrane comprises a thickness operable to maintain the weight distribution of a patient on the weight bearing upper surface of the resilient medical patient pressure redistribution support substantially the same compared to the weight distribution without the thin barrier membrane.
Mounting device providing a pivotal interface for attachment of emergency equipment thereto and a method thereof
A mounting device which provides a pivotal interface for emergency equipment and a method of attaching the emergency equipment to a rescue transport, e.g., a foot of a litter, are disclosed. For example, the mounting device is releasably attachable to the litter and includes a fastening device operably attached to a mounting structure of the device. The mounting structure includes a tilt plate capable of pivoting. The mounting device also includes an adapter capable of securely mating with the tilt plate, providing a pivotal interface for the attachment of the emergency equipment thereto.
DISSECTION STATION AND INSTALLATION
Disclosed herein is a dissection station for a cadaver. The station includes a tray having an arrangement of ventilation openings which allow a passage of fluid from the tray and an elongate form configured to support the cadaver. The station further includes an elongate bath disposed below the tray and configured to support the tray; a drainage system including a drainage outflow from the bath; and a gas extraction system including an exhaust duct from the bath. Further disclosed herein is an installation of a dissection station which is configured to force gas from a ceiling gas insertion mechanism toward the tray and through the ventilation arrangement to the bath and from the bath through an exhaust duct extension.

Patient Support System Having A Foot Barrier
A patient support system includes a patient transport apparatus. The patient transport apparatus includes a base, a litter, a deck section, and a mattress. The patient support system includes a foot barrier operatively attached to the litter. The foot barrier includes a bottom, a shield having a center panel pivotally coupled to the bottom, and a pair of side panels each pivotally coupled to the center panel. The shield being operable between a stowed configuration where the center panel and the side panels are disposed between the deck section and the mattress, and a deployed configuration where the center panel and the side panels extend at least partially above the mattress for shielding a caregiver from at least a portion of the patient. The foot barrier includes a brace coupled to the shield and arranged for attachment to the litter to maintain the shield in the deployed configuration.
