POLYMER DEPOSITION AND ATTACHMENT PROCESS FOR TEXTILES
A system and method for applying a polymer surface treatment to carpets and other textiles is provided. The system and method include the use of a surfactant-free emulsion of a surface treatment polymer. The use of the surfactant-free emulsion of a surface treatment polymer reduces or eliminates the need to use pH adjusting agents and/or ionic salt solutions when applying surface treatment polymers to carpets or other textiles. By reducing the need to remove surfactants, emulsifiers, pH adjusting agents, and/or salts, the total volume of water used in treating carpets or other textiles is reduced.
METHOD FOR COATING TEXTILE MATERIALS
A method for coating a textile material, said method includes the following steps: a) incorporating activated carbon in powder form into a coating composition including an aqueous solvent and at least one organosilicon precursor, wherein the organosilicon precursor represents from 5 to 50% by volume relative to the whole of the aqueous solvent and organosilicon precursor, b) impregnating the textile material with the coating composition by padding and c) drying the impregnated textile material, characterised in that the coating composition contains no polycarboxylic acid or catalyst.
WATER-REPELLENT FABRIC AND WATER-REPELLENT DOWN PRODUCT COMPRISING THE SAME
A method of preparing a water-repellent and moisture-permeable fabric, includes: preparing a water-repellent fabric by: immersing a raw fabric in a non-fluorinated water-repellent emulsion containing a non-fluorinated water repellent and an aqueous blocked polyisocyanate crosslinking agent; and drying and curing the raw fabric, which has been immersed, at a temperature of 150 C. to 200 C.; applying a polyurethane-based moisture-permeable coating liquid to the water-repellent fabric; and drying the water-repellent fabric while increasing a temperature from 100 C. to 150 C.
NON-FLUORINATED BLOCK COPOLYMER
A surface treatment agent which is a water-repellent agent, includes (1) a fluorine-free block copolymer, and (2) a liquid medium which is an organic solvent, water, or a mixture of water and an organic solvent. The non-fluorinated block copolymer includes at least one block segment (A) which includes a repeating unit formed from one or more types of acrylic monomer having a long-chain hydrocarbon group containing 12-40 carbon atoms. The non-fluorinated block copolymer preferably contains a segment (B) constituted by at least one of: (B1) a block segment including a repeating unit, different from that of segment (A), that is formed from an acrylic monomer having a long-chain hydrocarbon group including 12-40 carbon atoms; (B2) a block segment including a repeating unit formed from an acrylic monomer not having a long-chain hydrocarbon group; and (B3) a random segment formed from at least two types of acrylic monomers.
POLYMERS FOR HYDROPHOBIC AND OLEOPHOBIC TEXTILE FINISHING
The invention relates to copolymers comprising or consisting of, preferably consisting of three components:
component a) having at least one biuret or isocyanurate substructure,
component b) selected from polysiloxanes and polyhydrocarbons, preferably polysiloxanes,
component c) comprising a hydrocarbon which is different from component b) and has at least 6 carbon atoms and not more than 3 heteroatoms selected from the group of N, 0, S,
where component b) is joined to 2 different or identical components a) via at least two positions; and to the preparation and use thereof for finishing of fabrics.
Partial slipcover
The partial slipcover is a protective barrier adapted for use with a pillow. The partial slipcover is a composite textile that protects the pillow from staining. The partial slipcover is removably attached to the pillow thereby allowing the partial slipcover to be removed and replaced for cleaning. The partial slipcover comprises a composite textile and a fastener.
FABRICS INCLUDING A NON-FLUORINATED BARRIER COATING
A fabric suitable as an alcohol repellent fabric is provided. The fabric includes a fibrous substrate including a first outermost surface and a second outermost surface, in which a non-fluorinated barrier coating (NFBC) is located on at least a portion of a first outermost surface of the fabric, at least a portion of a second outermost surface of the fabric, or both.
NON-FLUORINATED FIBER AND TEXTILE TREATMENT COMPOSITIONS AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF
In one aspect, a composition for treating fibers comprises an acidic aqueous or aqueous-based continuous phase and a liquid repellent phase comprising a dendrimer component and/or non-dendrimer alkyl urethane. The treatment composition, for example, can have pH of 2.5 to 6.5. In some embodiments, carboxylic acid is employed in the treatment composition for providing the acidic character of the aqueous or aqueous-based continuous phase. Moreover, the treatment composition can further comprise at least one of an acid stain resist component and soil release component. In some embodiments, fibers treated with compositions described herein exhibit ionic character.
Dual hierarchical omniphobic and superomniphobic coatings
The disclosed subject matter relates to an omniphobic material, including a substrate layer, a first layer of first nanoparticles, the first nanoparticles having a first size and including a particle core and a coating of a fluorodecyl POSS and fluoro-elastomer co-polymer and a second layer of second nanoparticles, the second nanoparticles having a second size and including a particle core and a coating of a fluorodecyl POSS and fluoro-elastomer co-polymer. The first layer of first nanoparticles contact the fabric layer and the second layer of second nanoparticles contact the layer of first nanoparticles. The second size of the second nanoparticles is larger than the first size of the second nanoparticles.
