Clamp and patient lifting aids using the clamp
Disclosed is an assembly comprising a clamp, strap and rod. The strap is provided for suspending a load from the rod and/or clamp. The clamp comprises a gripping part for gripping around the rod, enabling a clamping of the clamp on the rod. The strap engages with the clamp along a first and second contact line. Two adjacent strap parts form an angle around the first contact line. When a load is suspended from the strap, the strap exerts a force on the clamp at the first contact line, pushing the clamp at the first contact line in a closing direction, pressing the gripping part against the rod. The gripping part is resilient and provided with a pretension for pressing against the rod when no load is suspended from the strap. Further disclosed are lifting aids using the clamp for lifting/repositioning patients with physical limitation.
MEANS FOR CONNECTING A WHEELCHAIR BACKREST
The invention relates to means for releasably connecting a wheelchair backrest to a wheelchair frame. This is desirable to facilitate collapse of the wheelchair for transport or storage. In the preferred embodiment there is a wheelchair having a support frame, a backrest (16) and connector comprising a saddle (1) and a clamp (17). The saddle has a slot (3) with top and front openings and a locking lever (7). Two pins (12) are received in the slot so they extend through the front opening, and the lever (7) is able to move to divide the slot into top and bottom zones so that a lower one of the pins is prevented from being withdrawn from the slot via the top opening by the lever. The lever can then be moved to unblock the lower pin and allow the slot (3) and the pins (12) to be dissociated.
Clamp mechanism for litter
A clamping mechanism is provided far attaching an instrument to a litter pole. The mechanism includes a platform, a base, first and second clamps, a quick-release pin and first and second thumb screws. The platform attaches the instrument and includes an elongated plate terminating in serifs at both ends. The base disposes the platform and includes a floor bounded by corner posts that extend above the floor, a block that extends below the floor, and a flange. The flange extends below the floor opposite the block, and the flange includes a first hinge. The clamp pivots on the base between the black and the flange. The clamp includes a second hinge that engages the first hinge, a curve member that connects to the second hinge for receiving the pole, and a tang that connects to the curve member. The spacer includes a convex surface to engage a joint on the pole and a flat surface opposite the convex surface to engage the block. The quick-release pin inserts through an adjacent pair of the corner posts disposed between the serifs. The first thumb-screw passes through the tang and into the block. The second thumb screw passes through the block and against the spacer to press towards the joint.
Extension mobility via a headset connection
A method is disclosed for performing extension mobility via a headset connection. The method includes receiving a headset identifier from a headset. Also, the method includes, in response to receiving the headset identifier, sending the headset identifier to a device management server. Further, the method includes receiving a call control user identifier from the device management server, and sending, to a call control server, the call control user identifier. Still yet, the method includes receiving, from the call control server, a configuration profile associated with the call control user identifier. One or more settings of a desk phone are configured using the configuration profile.
Modular critical care adaptor for litters
A modular approach to mounting medical equipment on evacuation litters employs litter engagement members of various configuration and a plurality of rail members all having the same sectional profile. The rail members can be mounted to a variety of connectors and auxiliary pieces such that equipment supporting structures can be built on a patient bearing litter without sacrificing access to the patient.
System, Method, and Apparatus for Clamping
A clamp includes a housing, a fixed gripper, a moveable gripper, a driven member, and an actuator. The housing includes first and second tracks. The fixed gripper is coupled to the housing. The driven member is configured to slide within the first and second tracks of the housing. The moveable gripper is operatively coupled to the driven member. The actuator is configured to move the driven member towards a first position to thereby move the moveable gripper towards the fixed gripper. The actuator is further configured to move the driven member towards a second position to thereby move the moveable gripper away from the fixed gripper.
Accessory Support And Coupling Systems For An Accessory Support
The present disclosure provides a coupling system for coupling a medical accessory to an accessory support is provided. The present disclosure also provides a system for powering a medical accessory with an accessory support.

Bed
A bed (1) comprising, a base part, with a patient support base (10) arranged above the base part, and including a position configurable patient support (19), four telescopic elevator columns (5), mounted on said base part. The four elevator columns (5) are arranged as a first and a second pair of telescopic elevator columns (5). The bed (1) has two cross-beams (8) for supporting the patient support base (10). An operator housing (9) is mounted on at least one of said cross-beams (8). The operator housing (9) comprises means for configuring said position configurable patient support (19). The operation housing (9) and said patient support base (10) comprising mutually releasable connection means.
Fail-safe release mechanisms for use with interchangeable patient positioning support structures
A fail-safe release mechanism for use with patient positioning support apparati having a base structure and a patient support structure, to prevent collapse of the patient support structure during disconnection of the patient support structure from the base structure at outboard ends thereof.
