METHODS FOR USE OF AQUEOUS POLYURETHANE DISPERSIONS AND ARTICLES MADE THEREBY
Methods for improving localized shaping and/or support functionalities, shape retention, comfort and/or stay of apparel and other fabric articles by applying an aqueous polyurethane dispersion at a selected intensity and/or at one or more selected locations of the apparel or other fabric article are provided. Apparel and other fabric articles with improved localized shaping and/or support functionalities, shape retention comfort and/or stay prepared in accordance with these methods are also provided.
Non-iron fabrics and garments, and a method of finishing the same
The present disclosure relates to a method of finishing non-iron fabrics, and the non-iron fabrics made by this method. This method includes the steps of mercerizing a fabric without liquid ammonia; curing the fabric by applying a low temperature, low formaldehyde curing resin and dry cross linking it; and massaging the fabric using an air blast textile finishing machine. The non-iron fabrics (and garments) produced according to this method have an improved durable press rating and reduced formaldehyde content or are even formaldehyde free when compared to similar products finished according to conventional liquid ammonia moisture-cure processing.
Making fabrics easier to iron
The aim is to reduce the wrinkling tendency of a cotton textile or otherwise cellulosic textile. This was achieved by bringing the textile into contact with an amino-group-containing polymer having carboxylic-acid-group-bearing substituents and optionally subsequently ironing the textile.
IMPROVEMENTS IN AND RELATING TO GARMENT REFRESHMENT
A garment refresh product (1) comprising: a garment refreshing composition (12); and a hand-held spray device which is manually operable to produce a spray of said composition in the form of a fine aerosol (29); said composition (12) comprising at least one of: an anti-malodour agent, an anti-wrinkle agent, and a perfume; and said spray device comprising a reservoir (2) containing said composition (12) and a spray mechanism (15) housed within a shroud (3) which is substantially aligned with a longitudinal axis (8) of said reservoir (2); said spray mechanism (15) being manually operable to discharge a dose of said composition (12) from the product (1) in the form of a fine aerosol (29) and in a spray-direction (5) which is substantially orthogonal to said longitudinal axis (8) of the reservoir (2). A method of creating a garment refresh spray.
Balance of durable press properties of cotton fabrics using non-formaldehyde technology
A formulation for durable press finishing of a cellulosic substrate, or a blend thereof, in a finish bath, the formulation comprising from about 3.0% to about 60.0% by weight of non-formaldehyde dimethylurea/glyoxal (DMUG), or an analog thereof, and from about 0.1% to about 4.0% by weight of one or more additives selected from dicyandiamide, choline chloride, ethyleneurea, propyleneurea, urea, dimethylurea, and combinations thereof, wherein the percent by weight is given in terms of percent weight of the finish bath, and wherein the formulation is substantially free of dimethyloldihydroxyethyleneurea (DMDHEU), and methods of use thereof.
FIBER-TREATING AGENT
A fiber-treating agent, including a condensate formed from the following components (A) and (B), and a component (C), and has a turbidity of 1,000 NTU or less: (A): formaldehyde or a hydrate thereof, (B): triazine or a derivative thereof of formula (1):
##STR00001##
where R.sup.1 to R.sup.3 are the same or different, and each represent a hydrogen atom, a hydroxymethylamino group, an amino group, a hydroxy group, a halogen atom, a phenyl group, a linear or branched alkyl group or alkenyl group having 1 or more and 6 or less carbon atoms, or a linear or branched alkoxy group or alkenyloxy group having 1 or more and 6 or less carbon atoms, and (C): water.
NON-FLUORINATED COATING AND FINISH AGENTS
The present invention relates to a coating composition with 10 to 100% by weight of a non-fluorinated compound mixture, which comprises at least one compound b and at least one compound a, c, or d: a) alkali metal salt of poly(meth)acrylic acid, alkali metal salt of poly(meth)acrylic acid copolymer, ammonium compound or amine salt of poly(meth)acrylic acid, ammonium compound or amine salt of poly(meth)acrylic acid copolymer, or mixtures thereof; b) silicone polyether, alkali metal salt of silicone polyether carboxylate, ammonium compound or amine salt of silicone polyether carboxylate, or mixtures thereof; c) salt of hydrolyzed -olefin/maleic anhydride copolymer, salt of esterified -olefin/maleic anhydride copolymer, -olefin/maleic anhydride copolymer amic acid resin or salt thereof, or mixtures thereof; or d) polycarboxylate calcium sequestrants or mixtures thereof. Such coatings exhibit improved soil and stain cleaning performance.
A STRETCHABLE FABRIC AND A METHOD, A WRINKLE-FREE FABRIC AND GARMENTS THEREOF
Described here in various embodiments is a stretchable yarn, a stretchable fabric made of the stretchable yarn, and a wrinkle-free stretchable garments having the stretchable fabric or manufactured from the stretchable fabric. Said stretchable yarn comprises a core yarn and staple fibres wherein the core yarn manufactured by intermingling a filament and an elastomeric yarn and said core yarn is bleded with the staple fibers.
