Polyurethane urea solutions for textile coatings
The invention relates to a method for coating textiles and/or leather, comprising applying at least one polyurethane urea dissolved in a solvent or solvent mixture, wherein the solvent consists of one or more monohydroxy-functional alcohols, or a solvent mixture consisting of organic solvents, containing >80 wt. % of at least one monohydroxy-functional alcohol in relation to the total mass of the solvent mixture is used, and wherein the polyurethane urea is formed by: a) at least one araliphatic, aliphatic and/or cycloaliphatic diisocyanate; b) at least one polyether polyol having a number average molecular weight M.sub.n400 and 6000 g/mol and an average hydroxyl functionality of 1.5 and 4; c) at least one amino-functional compound having at least two isocyanate reactive amino groups; and optionally other components. The invention also relates to a textile or leather coating produced using this method and a dissolved polyurethane urea, and to the use of the polyurethane urea for coating substrates and for producing free films.
SOUND-ABSORBING MEMBRANE, SOUND ABSORBING MATERIAL, AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE THEREOF
Provided are a sound-absorbing membrane, a sound-absorbing material, and methods of manufacture therefor that can provide suitable sound absorbing performance, suppressed deterioration in appearance quality, and easy production. A sound-absorbing membrane 10 includes: a base sheet 11 made of a nonwoven fabric having a airflow resistance of 0.01 to 0.1 kPa.Math.s/m; and a resin film 12 covering one surface of the base sheet, the resin film 12 made of a thermosetting resin in a semi-cured state. Fillers 13 made of powder having an average particle diameter of 1 to 100 m are dispersed in the resin film 12. The sound-absorbing membrane 10 has a whole airflow resistance of 0.2 to 5.0 kPa.Math.s/m. A sound-absorbing material 20 includes a sound absorbing base sheet 21 made of a porous material, and the sound-absorbing membrane 10 laminated on one surface or both surfaces of the sound absorbing base sheet 21 such that the resin film 12 faces the sound absorbing base sheet 21, the sound-absorbing material 20 has a predetermined shape.
Oil Absorbent Wiping Product
A wiping product is disclosed that is well suited for wiping up oils and greases. More particularly, the wiping product has been engineered to wipe up and absorb oils within the interior of the product. The wiper is made from a laminate containing outer layers designed to wick away and/or adsorb oily substances from a surface. The wiper also includes an elastic middle layer that is oil absorbable. In one embodiment, the outer layers are stretch bonded to the elastic middle layer so that the outer layers gather and create void spaces within the product.
ABSORBENT AND PROTECTIVE COMPOSITION INCLUDING AN ELASTOMERIC COPOLYMER AND SUPERABSORBENT
A composition for absorbing liquids such as water and oil can include a thermoplastic elastomeric copolymer, a superabsorbent material, and a solvent. The composition can be applied as a coating to a non-woven substrate. A method of removing water or oil from a surface employing the composition is also disclosed.
