WATERPROOF MEMBRANE
The invention relates to a waterproof membrane for building applications comprising at least one support carrier and at least one layer of a cross-linked coating composition comprising at least one polyurethane. The invention also relates to a waterproof membrane comprising at least one support carrier and at least one layer of a cross-linked coating composition comprising at least one polyurethane, an optional pre-coating layer to facilitate the manufacturing process, and to join the support carrier with the cross-linked coating composition in the most optimal and durable manner to achieve good surface appearance and chemical bonding between reinforcing carrier and crosslinked polyurethane coating. The waterproof membrane can be prepared and installed with lower cost in comparison to current flat roof waterproofing systems based on liquid two-component polyurethane systems.
SILICONE MEMBRANES
Silicone membranes and methods of manufacturing membranes are provided.
FUNGAL MATERIALS
The invention relates to fungal materials comprising fungal biomass, a polysaccharide-based matrix, a plasticicer (e.g. a polyol and/or latex), and an emulsifying agent. The invention also relates to methods of producing said fungal materials, and to uses of said fungal materials.
Method for providing bituminous backings for the construction industry
A method for providing bituminous backings for the construction industry, includes the following steps obtaining a semi-finished product having a reinforcement to which a bituminous layer is applied, on the outer surface of which inert materials are or are not distributed and/or inside which the inert materials are embedded. The method also includes annealing the semi-finished product, directly following the step of bituminization of the reinforcement or after the step of applying bitumen to the reinforcement so as to embed the inert materials in the bituminous layer, while at the same time drying the outer surface.
ROOFING MATERIALS HAVING ONE OR MORE POLYMER NETWORKS AND RELATED METHODS
Some embodiments relate to a roofing material. The roofing material comprises a substrate, and a coating on the substrate. The coating comprises at least a polymer A, a polymer B, and at least one filler. The polymer A, the polymer B, the at least one filler are present in an amount sufficient to result in the coating having: A) a Tear CD property of at least 1000 g-f; and B) at least one of an interpenetrating polymer network, a semi-interpenetrating polymer network, or any combination thereof. Other embodiments relate to additional roofing materials, methods for preparing roofing materials, and the like.
Flame-resistant composite substrates for bituminous membranes
A porous composite substrate for producing bituminous membranes, comprising a first nonwoven and a second nonwoven layer which comprise polyester fibers, and an intermediate nonwoven layer comprising organic flame-resistant fibers. A combustion temperature of the organic flame-resistant fibers is at least 500 C. and/or a limiting oxygen index (LOI) of the organic flame-resistant fibers is at least 25%. The composite substrate is mechanically consolidated.
FIBER MAT, METHOD OF MAKING THE FIBER MAT, AND BITUMINOUS ROOFING PRODUCT
A fiber mat includes an assembly of fibers including a minority portion including a set of polymer fibers and a majority portion including a set of fibers different than the minority portion, wherein the minority portion is a plane parallel to a plane of the majority portion of the assembly of fibers; and a binder including an organic resin, wherein an air permeability of said fiber mat is not substantially different from an equivalent weight fiber mat containing a homogenous mat structure and wherein the fiber mat provides at least a 5% increase in tear when placed in a bituminous roofing product compared to an equivalent bituminous roofing product made with the equivalent weight fiber mat containing the homogenous mat structure.
FIBROUS MATS AND PANELS HAVING A GYPSUM-BASED COATING AND METHODS FOR THE MANUFACTURE THEREOF
Coated nonwoven fibrous mats, building panels, and methods for making the same are provided. A coated nonwoven fiber mat includes a nonwoven fibrous mat having a continuous barrier coating on a surface thereof. The continuous barrier coating includes a set composition of gypsum and a binder. A building panel includes a panel core associated with a coated nonwoven fiber mat. A method of making a coated nonwoven fibrous mat includes depositing a composition of water, gypsum stucco, and a binder onto a surface of a nonwoven fibrous mat and setting the composition to form a continuous barrier coating.
ASPHALTIC SUBSTRATES WITH TREATED GRANULES AND METHODS OF PREPARING THEREOF
A method for preparing a bituminous roofing article, the method comprising: (i) applying a fluorine-containing compound to a plurality of granules; (ii) depositing the plurality of granules on an asphaltic substrate; where the fluorine-containing compound is defined by the formula (V) or (VI):
##STR00001## wherein r and q are independently integers of 1 to 3; R.sub.f is linear or branched chain perfluoroalkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms; j is an integer 0 or 1, or a mixture thereof, x is 1 or 2, X is hydrogen or M, and M is an ammonium ion, an alkali metal ion, or an alkanolammonium ion; and (iii) applying a silicone oil to the surface of the granules.
BASE INTERLINING, METHODS FOR THEIR MANUFACTURE AND APPLICATION THEREOF
The invention relates to a novel binder system and its use for bonding textile fabrics as well as products containing such bonded textile fabrics. The materials according to the invention are suitable for manufacturing base interlinings which may be used for manufacturing base interlinings for sarking, roofing and sealing membranes, particularly for manufacturing coated sarking, roofing and sealing membranes.
