CONTINUOUS PRODUCTION OF THERMOCHROMIC YARNS
20200181811 · 2020-06-11 · ·

A method of continuous production of thermochromic nanofiber yarns is described. The method includes applying a first thermochromic material to a nanofiber sheet, and then twisting that nanofiber sheet into a first thermochromic yarn. A second thermochromic material is optionally applied to the first thermochromic yarn to produce a second thermochromic yarn. Alternatively, a homogeneous mixture of the first and the second thermochromic materials is applied to a nanofiber sheet in a single layer to produce a thermochromic nanofiber yarn. The thermochromic yarn can be a single ply yarn or a multi-ply yarn depending on the color to be displayed.

Inkjet Loom Weaving Machine

A system for treatment of thread includes a weft thread printer having an intake positioned to receive a weft thread from a source, as well as an encoder that is configured to detect a length of the weft thread as the weft thread moves through the weft thread printer along a travel path. The system also includes a printhead positioned to apply coatings of a plurality of colors to the weft thread and yield a treated weft thread, as well as an outlet positioned to pass the treated weft thread to a loom.

ELECTRO-OPTIC FIBER AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
20200103720 · 2020-04-02 ·

An electro-optic fiber including a conductive fiber, a layer of electro-optic medium on the conductive fiber, and a conductor on the layer of electro-optic medium. A method of making the electro-optic fiber including the steps of coating a conductive fiber with an electro-optic medium and applying a conductor to the electro-optic medium. The resulting fibers can be woven to create a color-changing material, such as a fabric.

Method for labeling fabrics and heat-transfer label well-suited for use in said method

A method for labeling fabrics, such as fabric garments, and a heat-transfer label well-suited for use in the method. In one embodiment, the heat-transfer label includes (a) a support portion; and (b) a transfer portion, the transfer portion being positioned over the support portion for transfer of the transfer portion from the support portion to an article of fabric under conditions of heat and pressure, the transfer portion including (i) an ink design layer; (ii) a heat-activatable adhesive layer; and (iii) an RFID device.

Leuco dye pastel marking device

A leuco dye pastel marking device for use with a substrate treated with an activator of the leuco dye, such that drawing upon the substrate will reveal a color, but drawing on a normal surface will have no visible effect. A solvent such as dimethyl adipate is used to store the leuco dye in a longer-lived, more stable, solid form, and varying hardnesses and consistencies may be achieved by the addition of 12 hydroxystearic acid and ethyl cellulose. The substrate may be treated selectively with the activator such that a texture, image, or hidden message is revealed by the application of the leuco dye pastel to the substrate. One or more substrates and one or more leuco dye pastel marking devices may be presented to a child as a coloring book with pastels that only visibly mark the coloring book and no other surface.

Sanitary Mask

The present invention discloses a sanitary mask, including: a first anti-UV layer having a plurality of first holes distributed irregularly; a second anti-UV layer having a plurality of second holes distributed irregularly and disposed adjacent to the first anti-UV layer; a filtering layer disposed adjacent to the second anti-UV layer; and an inner layer disposed adjacent to the filtering layer.

Marking composition

The invention relates to a marking composition, by means of which better protection of goods than hitherto available can be achieved independently of the coloring of the goods. The marking composition comprises an infrared-absorbing particulate component and a carbon derivative, wherein the weight ratio of infrared-absorbing component to carbon derivative is in the range of approx. 10:1 to approx. 10,000:1.

TEXTILE PRODUCT HAVING LATENT IMAGE THAT SLOWLY APPEARS FOLLOWING REPEATED WASHINGS
20200060364 · 2020-02-27 ·

A textile product is disclosed having a latent image created from water-based ink which is applied using a screen printing process. The image is thereafter hidden underneath a second image created from a plasticizing emulsion such as plastisol ink which is partially cured. The partial cure causes a portion of the plasticizing emulsion to be removed from the textile product during washing and after repeated washings, the latent image becomes revealed.

Metalized fabric that dissipates and scatters infrared light and methods or making and using the same

A metalized fabric and method for metallization of fabric. The fabric is formed using two threads with different affinities for metallization, but which threads are not metalized prior to forming into the fabric. The threads will typically be woven using an unbalanced weave to provide one side of the fabric with a resultant greater amount of metallization than the other but this is not required. Once the resultant fabric is metalized, it will typically be more suitable for consistent color dying than fabric which was formed from both metalized and unmetallized threads.

Textile substrate with visual components

Aspects are directed to a textile substrate with two or more ink layers and methods for printing a textile substrate. The two or more ink layers may include one or more visual components that form graphics or images that are visible to an observer when viewing the textile substrate from different angles.
