Assistive stretching device and method of use
An assistive stretching device worn by a user to reduce physical stress while lifting to aid another individual in stretching and method is disclosed. The device includes a belt sized to fit around the torso of the user, first and second pulleys supported on the belt, first and second wrist attachments; first and second ankle attachments; first and second cords threaded through corresponding pulleys with one end attached to corresponding ankle attachments and the opposite end attached to corresponding wrist attachments. The pulleys operate to change the direction of the lifting force, making it easier to lift and stretch the anterior aspects of the musculature of the individual rather than lifting dead weight. An attachment including a dual pulley system may replace the first and second pulleys and includes an arm supporting a pulley at each end and openings to provide leverage adjustments when attaching the arm to the belt.
Inversion Table for Supporting Pulmonary Function
An inversion table comprises a tabletop that tilts upon a frame from up to a vertical orientation to up to 90° below horizontal. Shoulder supports are oriented and located such that the top of a user's shoulders rest against the shoulder supports and the user's body weight is borne by their shoulders when the tabletop is tilted below horizontal. Ankle supports hold the user on the inversion table as the tabletop tilts.
Standing adjustable lumbar technology system, device, and method
A system or device, and methods of use thereof, for use with one or more regions of the human body, particularly the lumbar region. The standing adjustment lumbar system comprises a lumbar support member, an adjustable tension member, and a platform member.
MASSAGE CHAIR HAVING IMPROVED STRETCHING FUNCTIONALITY
Disclosed is a massage chair with improved stretching performance. The massage chair includes a seating unit (20); a backrest unit (10) with a pair of massage rollers (40) installed to left and right sides thereof; a footrest unit (30) or an ankle holder (33) provided to a front lower portion of the backrest unit (10) to hold both feet; and an upper body stretching unit (50) installed to a rear portion of the backrest unit (10) to lift a hand lever (51) by a driving force, in which when the hand lever (51) is lifted in a state in which a user holds the hand lever (51) by both hands, the whole body is stretched. The lower portion of the backrest unit (10) is optionally provided with a lumbar stretching unit (70) for stretching a waist of the user, and an air conditioner (460) for supplying air to the backrest unit (10), so that the user can get over feeling tired.
Exercise Device
An exercise device useful in the alleviation of posture- and age-related ailments, and being beneficial in the re-alignment, flexibility, and strengthening of the spine of the human torso and the body's skeletal structure, said exercise device comprising a walking staff or walking stick, being of appropriate length, and having a top or proximal end and a bottom or distal end, a protective hand-grip disposed upon the top or proximal end of said walking staff or walking stick, a protective tip disposed upon said bottom or distal end of said walking staff or walking stick, and a protective sheath covering, at minimum, the central or middle portion of said walking staff or walking stick, and an exercise method useful in the alleviation of said posture- and age-related ailments, and being beneficial in the re-alignment, flexibility, and strengthening of the spine and core musculature of the human torso and the body's skeletal structure while simultaneously serving to re-calibrate the user's center of gravity, balance and equilibrium, said method comprising the steps of positioning the elongate walking staff exercise device behind the user's neck and across the user's shoulders to lift user's chest upwardly and away from said user's pelvic region, with said user's arms being extended across said exercise device at the inner part of said user's elbows such that said user's shoulders are raised upwardly and pulled backwardly and the user's torso is lifted upwardly, while said user's forearms and hands extend across said exercise device forwardly of said user's body, and walking with said exercise device in said shoulder-mounted, arms-extended position, said walking motion providing an alternating back-and-forth motion to the user's arms, shoulders and spinal column inherent to said walking motion so as to facilitate subtle and gentle corrections to said spinal column, while stretching and strengthening the muscles of the abdominal area of said user's torso, and shortening and strengthening the muscles of the user's lumbar region of the lower back, said method also comprising the steps of performing a series of torso-twisting regimens while using said elongate walking staff or walking stick wherein an increasing amount of torque is exerted upon the spinal column of the human torso in direct proportion to the position of the user's hands along the length of said elongate walking staff or walking stick.
Pneumatic distributor and walking aid system including the same
Provided is a pneumatic distributor for intaking and exhausting air of an air pad, including a lower plate member having one side to which an intake port and an exhaust port are connected and the other side to which a first port and a second port connected to the air pad are connected, and an upper plate member rotatably coupled to an upper surface of the lower plate member and configured to relatively rotate to control intaking and exhausting air through the first port and the second port, wherein the lower plate member includes an intake recess communicating with the intake port, an exhaust recess communicating with the exhaust port, a first recess communicating with the first port, and a second recess communicating with the second port, and the intake recess, the exhaust recess, the first recess, and the second recess are formed on an upper surface of the lower plate member.
