Exoskeleton and mounting arrangement
There is disclosed a mobility aid for use by a user having a lower body amputation site. The mobility aid includes a lower body exoskeleton (LBE). The LBE has a pelvic support structure and a first leg and a second leg. Each of the first and second legs are movably coupled to the pelvic support structure, wherein at least the first and second legs are selectively actuable to move the lower body exoskeleton relative to a surface on which the mobility aid is positioned. The LBE also includes a carrier selectively positionable with respect to the lower body exoskeleton and, which in use, supports the user at or about an amputation site; and a harness system configured to, when in use, secure the user to the lower body exoskeleton.
Exercise device having a linear arm portion
An exercise apparatus includes a linear arm portion having an elongate arm member with proximal and distal ends and an elongate support member having proximal and distal ends. The arm member can be slidably mounted to the support member by a sliding joint. A linear arm brake assembly can be coupled to the arm member for resisting linear motion of the arm member. A torso portion can be included to which the linear arm portion is rotatably mounted about a second axis by rotary shoulder joint. The linear arm portion can be configured, and the rotary shoulder joint can be positioned along the length of the support member at a location that substantially balances the linear arm portion about the rotary shoulder joint at least when the arm member is in the retracted position.
Stretching Machine
The present invention is a Stretching Machine in the form of a remote power actuated mechanical pushing apparatus comprising a flat base extended in front of an open box frame having a power actuated mechanical pushing and pulling device with a plurality of cylindrical padded arms enabling a full one hundred and eighty degree arc range of effective powered stretching assistance for self stretching the lower back muscles and leg muscles for exercise, physical therapy, rehabilitation, and stretching. It is useful for actively and passively, safely and effectively, self stretching the erector spinae, hamstrings, quadriceps, sartorius, hip adductors, hip flexors, tensor fasciae latae, rectus femris, gluteus maximus, and gluteus medius muscles. The Stretching Machine is also convenient and easy to use to stretch the muscles of the upper back.
Apparatus for Treating Knee Abnormalities
A method of treating knee abnormalities includes securing the portion of the leg above the knee to a stationary object and securing the portion of the leg below the knee to a movable support. A force is applied to the movable support to stretch the knee joint. An apparatus for carrying out the method is also disclosed. The apparatus may be fitted with a controller system which allows the apparatus to be operated wirelessly from a mobile device running a mobile application, which may communicate with a web-based portal and/or database.
Wearable apparatus for assistance and operating method thereof
A wearable assistance apparatus is disclosed, wherein the wearable assistance apparatus may include a first frame configured to transfer a power in a first direction to assist a user, a second frame configured to transfer the power in a second direction to assist the user, a first wearing portion configured to urge the second frame towards the user in response to the first wearing portion being pulled in the first direction, and a second wearing portion configured to urge the first frame towards the user in response to the second wearing portion being pulled in the second direction.
Method and device for controlling walking assist device
A method and device for controlling a walking assist device is disclosed. The method includes determining a first state variable for a gait state of a user wearing the walking assist device based on a gait of the user, obtaining a second state variable which is smoothed and time-delayed from the first state variable, obtaining a third state variable by applying a torque control variable to the second state variable, and determining an assist torque to be provided by the walking assist device based on the obtained third state variable.
Apparatus for measurement of a limb circumference, a device for measurement of a limb compliance comprising the same and a device used in the treatment of lymphedema comprising the same
The present invention provides an apparatus for measurement of a limb circumference, comprising a pull string module, a first measurement module and a second measurement module. The pull string module comprises a surrounding component, wherein the surrounding component comprises an encircling part disposed around a limb of an individual; the first measurement module is disposed at the pull string module and moves alone the longitudinal axis of the limb and meanwhile measures the length of the limb; and the second measurement module measures the length of the encircling part simultaneously when the first measurement module move alone the limb, so as to determine the correlation between the limb length and the limb circumference. The present invention further provides a device including two or more apparatuses of the present invention to measure the limb compliance and to be used in the treatment of lymphedema.
Lower limb powered orthosis with low ratio actuation
The present disclosure is relates to an orthosis device. The orthosis device, in one embodiment, includes an actuator housing, and an electric motor coupled to the actuator housing, the electric motor including a motor stator and a motor rotor, and the electric motor further having high output torque. The orthosis device, in this embodiment, further includes a low-ratio transmission coupled to the actuator housing, the transmission including a gear system coupled to the actuator housing, and a drive system coupling the electric motor and the gear system, wherein a combination of the electric motor and transmission provide a user backdrivable orthosis device.
Systems, devices, and methods for testing suture performance under static and dynamic conditions
A system for testing sutures includes a test bench having a rotatable table, a framework supporting the test bench and the rotatable table above a surface, and a continuous passive motion (CPM) machine mounted on the rotatable table. The CPM machine is configured to rotate between a first position in which the CPM machine is upright and located above the rotatable table and a second position in which the CPM machine is inverted and located below the rotatable table. The system includes a fluid supply subsystem for directing an infusion fluid toward the CPM machine, a pump for circulating the infusion fluid in the fluid supply subsystem, a heat exchanger for heating the infusion fluid, a fluid collection tray located below the CPM machine and the rotatable table, and a pressure monitoring subsystem for monitoring a pressure level of the infusion fluid.
