The cord satisfies the relationship 100≤MC≤175, where MC=(J×MI+L×ME)/(J+L); MI=200×cos.sup.4(α)×[Q×(D1/2).sup.2×cos.sup.4(β)+N×(D2/2).sup.2×cos.sup.4(γ)]/[Q×(D1/2).sup.2+N×(D2/2).sup.2]; and ME=200×cos.sup.4(α′)×[Q′×(D1′/2).sup.2×cos.sup.4(β′)+N′×(D2′/2).sup.2×cos.sup.4(γ′)]/[Q′×(D1′/2).sup.2+N′×(D2′/2).sup.2], where D1, D1′, D2, D2′ are in mm, α and α′ are the helix angle of each internal and external strand (TI), β and β′ are the helix angle of each internal thread (F1, F1′), and γ and γ′ are the helix angle of each external thread (F2, F2′).
SMALL DIAMETER CABLE
A wire cable construct including a plurality of strands each made of a plurality of wire filaments, the strands and wire filaments arranged in a 37×7 configuration of 37 strands of 7 wire filaments each, with the strands arranged in four layers including a first, central layer of a single strand, a second layer of six strands, a third layer of twelve strands and a fourth, outermost layer of eighteen strands. The cable may have a small diameter for use in medical device applications, and the strand and wire element configuration allows the cable to carry high axial loads, minimizes bending stress when the cable is routed around a tight turn such as a small pulley, and minimizes torsion in the cable due to axial loading.
WIRE ROPE WITH RESIN WIRE, MOLD WITH RESIN WIRE WINDING, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING WIRE ROPE WITH RESIN WIRE
Provided is a wire rope with resin wire, including a wire rope body in which a plurality of strands are twisted together, and at least one resin wire spirally wound around the wire rope body along a recess between the strands. Strand grooves into which the strands can fit and a resin wire groove into which the resin wire can fit are formed spirally along the twist of the wire rope with resin wire, in a winding hole of a resin wire winding die used for winding the resin wire around the wire rope body. As a result, the resin wire can be easily and reliably mounted on the wire rope body and a wire rope with resin wire can be thus produced.
Hybrid cable for reinforcing polymeric articles and reinforced articles
A hybrid cable having a core and a wrap; the core made from a carbon fiber yarn or bundle of carbon fiber strands or yarns; and the wrap made of a plurality of metal wires helically wrapped around the core, the plurality of metal wires laid side by side without crossing each other. The fibers, yarns, or core may be treated with polymeric sizing, adhesive, or binder. The wire may be steel and may have a coating such as brass or zinc plating, or a polymeric coating or treatment. The hybrid cable is useful for reinforcing composite articles such as belts, track, or hose.
M+N steel cord for reinforcing rubber product
A steel cord for rubber reinforcement comprises a first group of core filaments (105) having a number of m and a second group of sheath filaments (110) having a number of n, m is three or four, the core filaments (105) are forming a helix, the core filaments (105) are not twisted together and being substantially parallel or the core filaments (105) have a twist pitch being more than 300 mm; the second group and the first group are twisted with each other, and the sheath filaments (110) are forming a flattened helix in the same direction of the helix of the core filaments (105), and the sheath filaments (110) have a cord twist pitch, at any cross-section of the steel cord, at least one interstice between two adjacent core filaments (105) is present. The steel cord has improved abrasion resistance and can contribute to the reduction of the weight of the tire.
