ELEVATOR BELT SURFACE PROTECTION FOR INSTALLATION
A belt of an elevator system includes one or more tension elements extending longitudinally along a length of the belt, and an elastomeric jacket at least partially enveloping the one or more tension elements. The jacket defines a traction side configured to be interactive with a traction sheave of the elevator system and a back side opposite the traction side. A protective tape is applied to the elastomeric jacket at the back side. A method of assembling an elevator system includes forming a belt, and installing the belt in a hoistway of the elevator system. One or more additional components of the elevator system are installed in the hoistway. A protective tape is removed from a jacket of the belt after installation of the one or more additional components is completed.
Wire rope with resin wire, resin wire winding die, and method for producing wire rope with resin wire
Provided is a wire rope with resin wire, including a wire rope body in which a plurality of strands are twisted together, and at least one resin wire spirally wound around the wire rope body along a recess between the strands. Strand grooves into which the strands can fit and a resin wire groove into which the resin wire can fit are formed spirally along the twist of the wire rope with resin wire, in a winding hole of a resin wire winding die used for winding the resin wire around the wire rope body. As a result, the resin wire can be easily and reliably mounted on the wire rope body and a wire rope with resin wire can be thus produced.

Wear detection for coated belt or rope
A method of wear detection of a coated belt or rope includes connecting a wear detection unit to one or more monitoring strands and/or cords of a coated belt or rope. The coated belt or rope includes one or more baseline strands and/or cords exhibiting a first change in electrical resistance as a function of bending cycles of the belt or rope and one or more monitoring strands and/or cords exhibiting a second change in electrical resistance as a function of bending cycles of the belt or rope, greater than the first change in electrical resistance. An electrical resistance of the one or more monitoring strands and/or cords is measured via the wear detection unit. Using at least the measured electrical resistance of the one or more monitoring strands and/or cords, a wear condition of the belt or rope is determined.
TOW CABLE
A tow cable for a decoy on a fast jet aircraft is described. The tow cable has a composite structure with a high friction fibre outer containment braiding, and low friction fibre internal strength members. Additional to these internal fibres may be electrical conductors and optical fibres. The whole composite providing a tow cable with high towing endurance and reliable in-flight performance, for flight profiles including high performance manoeuvres and in-flight refuelling.

Rubber-reinforcing cord and rubber product using same
A rubber-reinforcing cord (10) includes a first fiber strand (11) and a plurality of second fiber strands (12) disposed around the first fiber strand (11). The second fiber strand (12) has a tensile elastic modulus higher by 20 GPa or more than that of the first fiber strand (11).
Tension member for elevator system belt
A belt for an elevator system includes a plurality of tension members arranged along a belt width and extending longitudinally along a length of the belt, each tension member including a plurality of load carrying fibers, the plurality of load carrying fibers including a plurality of aromatic polyester based fibers. A jacket material at least partially encapsulates the plurality of tension members.
Conveyor belt having a tensile member comprising cables
A conveyor belt includes a first outer sheet disposed on a loadbearing side of the conveyor belt, a second outer sheet disposed on a drive side of the conveyor belt, and an embedded tension-member system disposed between the two sides, which is in the form of cords running parallel in the longitudinal direction of the conveyor belt. The tension-member system includes steel and, prior to vulcanization of the conveyor belt, an expandable coating which, after vulcanization of the conveyor belt, has a pore structure provided to at least portions of the tension-member system. The sheets are formed from a polymeric material with resilient properties. In some aspects, the volume of the coating after vulcanization is from 30 to 5000% higher than prior to vulcanization. The coating may contain at least one of a blowing agent and/or microbeads.
Elevator system belt
A belt for an elevator system includes a plurality of tension members arranged along a belt width and extending longitudinally along a length of the belt. Each tension member includes a plurality of basalt fibers to enhance temperature resistance of the tension member. A jacket material at least partially encapsulates the plurality of tension members. An elevator system includes a hoistway, an elevator car located in the hoistway and movable therein, and a belt operably connected to the elevator car to suspend and/or drive the elevator car along the hoistway. The belt includes a plurality of tension members arranged along a belt width and extending longitudinally along a length of the belt.
