Disclosed invention is a method to create slings in a rope and the product of the method. The splice in the present invention creates the splice primarily in the eye of the sling as opposed to the body of the sling. By creating the splice in the eye, the amount of rope needed for the splice is reduce, allowing for greater flexibility in the length of the resulting sling, and lower overall weight.

Various embodiments of a spliced-connection for creating an eye in a rope having an eye portion at one end, a transition rearward of the eye portion and a body rearward of the transition, are formed with at least one strand extending through the eye portion of the rope toward the forward end of the rope and at least one other strand extending through the eye portion in the opposite direction. At least one strand, at or near its forward end, is returned into the transition.

Wear and performance sling with hybrid material webbiing

A webbing for use with a tiedown or sling which has overall increase strength efficiency when compared to known tiedowns or slings which use texturized yarn. The webbing contains non-texturized yarn material having reduced elongation characteristics in the core, combined with non-texturized yarn having higher elongation and improved wear characteristics on the exterior surfaces.

Lightweight flexible tensioning system for construction equipment

Components and systems for a flexible tensioning member for construction equipment. A tensioning member is comprised of a fiber having a specific tensile strength greater than 1,000 kilonewton meters per kilogram. The tensioning member connects two components and has an attachment allowing the tensioning member to flex relative to a component. The attachment may provide a system for connecting multiple tensioning members.
