METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS FOR TREATING PERIODONTAL DISEASE
Compositions and methods of treating periodontitis are provided. Such compositions and methods typically include a BAR polypeptide and a delivery vehicle.
AIRLAID SUBSTRATES HAVING AT LEAST ONE BICOMPONENT FIBER
An airlaid substrate includes at least one bicomponent fiber having a first region and a second region. The first region includes polypropylene and the second includes a blend of an ethylene-base polymer and an ethylene acid copolymer. The ethylene-base polymer has a density from 0.920 g/cm.sup.3 to 0.970 g/cm.sup.3 and a melt index (I.sub.2) from 0.5 g/10 min to 150 g/10 min. The ethylene acid copolymer includes the polymerized reaction product of from 60 wt % to 99 wt % ethylene monomer and from 1 wt % to 40 wt % unsaturated dicarboxylic acid comonomer, based on the total weight of the monomers in the ethylene acid copolymer. The ethylene acid copolymer having a melt index (I.sub.2) from 0.5 g/10 min to 500 g/10 min.
COMPOSTABLE NONWOVEN WITH LOW EXTENSIBILITY
Pre-dosed wipes and packaged systems of such wipes including a nonwoven substrate formed from natural pulp fibers and synthetic thermoplastic binder fibers comprising at least one of a biodegradable and/or compostable polyester, polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH), or polyvinyl acetate (PVA). The binder fibers, and the nonwoven substrate as a whole may meet any applicable biodegradability/compostability standard (e.g., ASTM D6400 or EN13432). The wipe may be substantially void of PLA. The fibers and/or nonwoven substrate may be meltblown, spunbond, spunlaid, SMS (spunbond-meltblown-spunbond), coformed, carded web, thermal bonded, thermoformed, spunlace, hydroentangled, hydroembossed, needled, or chemically bonded. A cleaning composition is loaded onto the wipe. A container can be provided within which the plurality of nonwoven substrates pre-dosed with the cleaning composition are packaged.
Carboxylated Vinyl Acetate/Ethylene Copolymer Dispersions and Uses Thereof
The present invention relates to preparation of heterogeneous mixtures of (carboxylated) vinyl ester/ethylene dispersions, such as vinyl acetate/ethylene (VAE) dispersions with polyamideamine-epichlorohydrin (PAE) wet strength resins having a reduced amount of halogenated organic compounds, such as less than 1500 ppm. The dispersion offers extremely low free and bound formaldehyde levels combined with wet tensile strength for use in non-woven textile and paper applications.

ELECTROSPUN FIBERS HAVING A PHARMACEUTICAL AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING THE SAME
A fiber may comprise an electrospun polymer and a pharmaceutical. The pharmaceutical may be dispersed within the electrospun polymer, and may have the form of a crystal, an oil, or a combination thereof. A method of making an electrospun fiber may comprise configuring a receiving surface to receive a polymer fiber, applying a charge to one or more of the receiving surface, a polymer injection system, and a polymer solution ejected from the polymer injection system, and depositing a polymer solution ejected from the polymer injection system onto the receiving surface. The polymer solution may comprise a polymer and a pharmaceutical. A method of treating a disorder in a subject may comprise obtaining such a fiber having an effective amount of a pharmaceutical, applying the fiber to an oral region of the subject, and allowing the fiber to disintegrate, thereby delivering the effective amount of the pharmaceutical to the subject.
Method of preparing a composite sheet
A composite sheet comprising two or more layers is described where the degree of abrasiveness of can be controlled. The sheet can comprise partially or wholly biodegradable or compostable materials or blends thereof. Methods of preparing the composite sheets are also described.
Carboxylated vinyl acetate/ethylene copolymer dispersions and uses thereof

The dispersion offers extremely low free and bound formaldehyde levels combined with wet tensile strength for use in non-woven textile and paper applications.
Three-dimensional knee model with realistic physiological and biomechanical knee function
Disclosed herein are methods of using spun synthetic fibers to model ligaments of a joint of an animal. Further disclosed are models of joints which comprise spun synthetic fibers used to model ligaments. In certain aspects, the models of joints can be used for instructional purposes, as phantom models for testing medical devices or as models for calibration of tools used in physiological and/or biomechanical measurement.
Closed porous composite material, thermal insulation material, sound insulation material, and manufacturing method thereof
A method for manufacturing a closed porous composite material includes 1) preparing a mixture that has 30 to 70 parts by weight of water-dispersed resin, 10 to 300 parts by weight of unexpanded thermal expansion microspheres, and 100 to 550 parts by weight of water, and stirring the mixture thoroughly; 2) preparing a carrier; 3) coating the carrier with the mixture acquired in step 1; 4) heating the carrier so that the unexpanded thermal expansion microspheres expand; and 5) repeating steps 3 and 4 multiple times to acquire a closed porous composite material. The closed porous composite material has a large number of closed cavities and polymer walls separating the closed cavities. The closed cavity is 20 μm to 800 μm in size. The ratio of a total volume of the closed cavities to a total volume of the polymer walls is greater than 16.
