Devices for supporting regeneration of body tissues, and methods of making and using them
The invention provides devices for supporting regeneration of body tissue and of tubular structures, such as the esophagus or intestine, and methods for making and for using the devices.
DRUG DELIVERY COMPOSITIONS FOR OCULAR ADMINISTRATION OF THERAPEUTICS AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
The present disclosure relates to compositions, devices, and methods for delivery of protein therapeutics, e.g., intravitreal delivery of a protein therapeutic to the eye. In particular, the present disclosure describes drug-delivery devices for injection into the eye of a subject in need thereof comprising a capsule having a bi-layered wall and a therapeutic agent, wherein the therapeutic agent is initially present within a luminal space of the capsule. Methods of making and using these drug-delivery devices are also described.
POLYMERS, ARTICLES, AND CHEMICALS MADE FROM DENSIFIED TEXTILE DERIVED SYNGAS
Densified textile aggregates are co-fed with a fuel into a partial oxidation gasifier. High solids concentrations in the feedstock composition can be obtained without significant impact on the feedstock composition stability and pumpability. A consistent quality of densified textile derived syngas can be continuously produced, including generation of carbon dioxide and a carbon monoxide/hydrogen ratio while stably operating the gasifier and avoiding the high tar generation of fluidized bed or fixed bed waste gasifiers and without impacting the operations of the gasifier. The densified textile derived syngas quality, composition, and throughput are suitable for produce a wide range of chemicals and polymers, including methanol, acetic acid, methyl acetate, acetic anhydride, and cellulose esters through a variety of reaction schemes in which at least a portion of the chemical or polymer originates with densified textile derived syngas.
PRODEGRADATION IN NONWOVENS
A biologically degradable multi-component polymer fiber, in particular bi-component fibers, with advantageous physical properties, to a process for its production, as well as to its use.
Smart Mask
A face mask includes a fabric filter configured to be worn on a user's face. A composition with anti-viral properties is arranged on the fabric. The composition preferably includes anti-viral oils and an anti-viral metal such as copper or copper oxide.
PROTECTIVE DEVICE, SLOPE SECURING MEANS AS WELL AS USE OF AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE PROTECTIVE DEVICE
A protective device, in particular an anti-erosion protective device, preferably a geotextile, is at least configured to be planarly spread over a surface, in particular an earth surface, that is to be protected, and which is at least largely implemented of a plurality of synthetic fibers interconnected via force-fit connection and/or substance-to-substance bond and arranged in such a way that they form an essentially three-dimensional structuring, wherein at least a large portion of the synthetic fibers are at least largely biodegradable.
BIODEGRADABLE TEXTILE FIBERS WITH INHERENT COLOR AND PROPERTIES
A biopolymer composition can be formed based, at least in part, on a recombinantly expressed protein, expressed from a DNA coding sequence of a source protein, and the recombinantly expressed protein can optionally comprise one or more tags that enhance the crosslinking capacity of the protein. It was determined that such biopolymer composition can be suitable for use to obtain, for example, a biodegradable textile that exhibits a functional characteristic associated with the recombinantly expressed protein.
Biodegradable Nonwoven Fabric
The present disclosure provides: a biodegradable nonwoven fabric for thermoforming, the biodegradable nonwoven fabric being composed of a fiber of a polylactic acid-based polymer, and having a basis weight of 20-300 g/m.sup.2, preferably, a biodegradable nonwoven fabric characterized by being composed of a long fiber of a polylactic acid polymer, having an MD-direction elongation of 50% or more at 120° C., and having an MD-direction dimensional change rate of ±4% or less at 80-140° C. as determined by thermomechanical analysis; a method for producing a molded body by using said biodegradable nonwoven fabric; and a method for molding a biodegradable beverage extraction container, the method being characterized in that the molded body has an MD-direction elongation change rate of 4% or less, as determined by thermomechanical analysis (TMA) under a load of 0.05 N/2 mm at 30-100° C.
Microelectrode array comprising connecting microfibers
A microelectrode array comprises three or more flexible oblong, electrically co-operating microelectrodes in wire and/or ribbon form disposed substantially in parallel. The microelectrodes are electrically insulated except for at a distal section thereof. The array further comprises electrically non-conducting microfibres connecting central portions of the microelectrodes in oblique directions in respect of the array axis. In a preferred array variety the microelectrodes are joined by a glue that is dissolvable or degradable in aqueous body fluid. Also disclosed is a combination of two or more arrays of the invention.
POUCHED PRODUCT FOR ORAL USE, SEALING METHOD, SEALING DEVICE, METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING A POUCHED PRODUCT FOR ORAL USE
Described is a pouched product for oral use with a filling material and a saliva-permeable pouch. The pouch is made of a saliva-permeable packaging material that includes fibres and enclosing the filling material. The pouch has a first seal joining at least two plies of the packaging material. The at least two plies are interconnected in the first seal by inter-ply fibres, the inter-ply fibres being fibres which are present in at least two plies of the at least two plies.
