Cane end
The present disclosure is directed to a cane end having attachment means and force absorbing means. In some embodiments, the force absorbing means is a blade capable of deflecting, compressing, and/or flexing under load.
Biomechanically derived crutch
A saddle for a crutch to assist a user in walking. The saddle comprises a frame having a support membrane disposed thereon, the frame and support membrane providing an inner lobe configured to rest against a torso of the user during use, an outer lobe configured to rest against an arm of the user during use, and a top portion connecting the inner lobe and the outer lobe and forming a U-shaped channel having an curved upper surface configured to fit within an armpit of the user with the U-shaped channel open along at least a portion of a downward facing side. A pivoting joint is attached. A spring mechanism having an upper portion is attached to the pivoting joint such that the joint is configured to allow the spring mechanism to move with respect to the frame along an arced path.
Crutch
Embodiments of crutches are disclosed. A crutch has a main body having a substantially vertical tubular member with a plurality of apertures formed therein; an angled portion extending upwardly from the substantially vertical tubular member; an arm rest support extending perpendicularly from the angled portion for receiving an arm rest; and a handle extending outwardly from the arm rest support. The crutch further includes a leg telescopically received into the substantially vertical tubular member, and a foot exchangably received by the leg.
Foot for medical mobility device
A foot for a medical mobility device includes an upper portion, a traction surface, and a cushion ring. The upper portion has an opening at a first end for receiving an end of a medical mobility device and an upper portion post extending from a second end away from the opening. The traction surface has a core element that includes a cylindrical post extending upwardly from the traction surface. The upper portion is secured atop the core element. The cylindrical post is adhered to the upper portion post thereby defining a space between the upper portion and the traction surface, and the cushion ring is positioned in the space.
Human hand-crawling apparatus
A height-adjustable apparatus using a spring to urge forward and rearward undulating whippy locomotion is disclosed. A hand-crawling embodiment having a hand-glove assembly affixed to a base assembly enables users to engage in all-fours crawling locomotion while the body is conventionally situated in a two-legged orientation. One embodiment includes a forearm support bracket mounted at either a permanent or adjustable wrist angle. An internal stabilizer cylinder retainer is also provided to reduce inward pivoting of the internal stabilizer cylinder retainer in the direction of the opposite hand while permitting outward pivoting toward the outside of the device, and front-to-back pivoting toward the front side or backside of the device. A similar foot-bounding embodiment enables walkers, joggers, runners and jumpers to engage in forward and backward whippy locomotion. A crutch embodiment having a similar base assembly enables crippled or injured users to likewise engage in whippy locomotion.
CRUTCHES, WALKING STICKS AND THE LIKE, AND ENHANCEMENT METHODS THEREFOR
A crutch, or the like, that can handle ground conditions includes an elongate brace having a lower extension and an upper element. The upper element is adapted to engage a portion of the human anatomy. A device positioned at the lower extension includes a firm proximal member, and a firm distal member. The firm proximal member and the firm distal member are positioned below the upper end of the main body. Also included is an elongate flexible structure. This structure is adapted to engage the proximal member and the distal member, and allow them to angularly deflect relative to each other. An angular offset can then occur between the firm distal member and the main body. Also included is a base positioned below the distal member that has multiple feet.
Mobility device
A mobility device for assisting an individual with limited or altered mobility due to a leg injury or condition. The mobility device includes a rod that defines a longitudinal axis of the mobility device, a foot rest slidably mounted for longitudinal translation along the rod, a seat located at an upper end of the mobility device, and an impact-absorbing mechanism for absorbing impacts transferred from the seat to the rod. The device is configured for securing the thigh of the user's leg to the seat, and securing the foot of the user's leg to the foot rest.
Biomechanical and ergonomical adjustable crutch
A rotatable shock absorber assembly for a crutch. A guide pin is removably fixable within the upper portion of a support leg. A piston comprises a flange arranged proximate a saddle, comprising a top surface having two or more arcuate rotation grooves defined therein, and a main body defining an elongate slot enabling the guide pin to be inserted therethrough, such that the piston can translate along the elongate axis relative to the guide pin. A joint, can operably couple the piston to the saddle. The joint can rotate about the elongate axis relative to the piston. A biasing mechanism is configured to urge the piston along the elongate axis toward the armpit of the user whereby the saddle can be held stable in the armpit of the user and the support leg can rotate about, and translate along the elongate axis during use.
CONVENIENTLY-STORED UNDERARM CRUTCH
A conveniently-stored underarm crutch is provided. The underarm crutch includes an underarm support, two upper limb tubes parallel to each other, a handle, a connecting base and a foot tube. The underarm support is disposed above upper ends of the two upper limb tubes, the handle is disposed between the two upper limb tubes, the connecting base is provided with two inserting holes, the two upper limb tubes are respectively inserted into the two inserting holes, the connecting base is provided with elastic pieces configured to lock the two upper limb tubes in the inserting holes, an end of each of the elastic pieces is connected to a corresponding one of the two upper limb tubes, another end of each of the elastic pieces is connected to the connecting base, and the foot tube is connected to the connecting base.
Crutch
A crutch includes an arm rest having an elbow end and a front end, the front end defining a front face having a first opening formed therein, and a bottom edge forming a second opening. The crutch has a handle extending outwardly from the front end of the arm rest, but not from the first or second openings. A leg is received into one of the first and second openings in a first configuration, and into the other of the first and second openings in a second configuration. The leg is selectively convertible between the first and second configuration.
