NONWOVEN FIBROUS WEBS AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING THEREOF
Disclosed herein are nonwoven fibrous web comprising a population of fibers, wherein the fibers are formed from a composite that comprises: (i) a thermoplastic elastomeric polymer (TPE) component; (ii) a soft elastomeric polymer component that at ambient temperatures is above its glass transition temperature; and (iii) optionally a filler. Also described are methods of making these nonwoven fibrous webs as well as articles made therefrom.
Yarn
According to an example aspect of the present invention, there is provided a yarn (100) comprising: a plurality of monofilaments (101 102, 103, 104) twisted together, and a multifilament or a spun yarn (105) wound around the plurality of monofilaments (101, 102, 103, 104), wherein the multifilament or the spun yarn (105) comprises a bio-based material, a recycled bio-based material or a recycled synthetic material.
POLYMER COMPOSITION COMPRISING BASIC ADDITIVE, PROCESS AND ARTICLES COMPRISING SAID POLYMER COMPOSITION
The present invention relates to polymer compositions comprising at least one basic additive, and processes comprising at least one process step to obtain the polymer composition or articles comprising the polymer composition. The polymer composition generally displays an enhanced biodegradability.
Nonwoven Fabrics Including Recycled Polypropylene
Nonwoven fabrics are provided that include a first meltblown layer, in which the first meltblown layer comprises a first polymeric material including (i) a first polymer component and (ii) optionally one or more first additives. The first polymer component comprises a first recycled-polypropylene (rPP).
POLYARYLENE ETHER SULFONE
A polyarylene ether sulfone comprising in polymerized form A) isosorbide, isomannide, isoidide or a mixture thereof and B) at least one at least one nonsulfonated dihalodiaryl sulfone (compound B) and C) at least one sulfonated dihalodiaryl sulfone (compound C), a process for its preparation and its use in the preparation of coatings, films, fibers, foams, membranes or molded articles.
Acid resistant glass mats that include binders with hydrophilic agents
Glass-fiber mats for lead-acid batteries are described. The glass-fiber mats may include a plurality of glass fibers held together with a binder. The binder may be made from a binder composition that includes (i) an acid resistant polymer, and (ii) a hydrophilic agent. The hydrophilic agent increases the wettability of the glass-fiber mat such that the glass-fiber mat forms a contact angle with water or aqueous sulfuric acid solution of 70° or less. Also described are methods of making the glass-fiber mats that include applying a binder composition to the glass fibers, and including a hydrophilic agent in the glass fiber mat that increases the wettability of the mat. The hydrophilic agent may be added to the binder composition, applied to the glass-fiber mat, or both.
NONWOVEN FABRICS WITH ADDITIVE ENHANCING BARRIER PROPERTIES
Nonwoven fabrics having liquid barrier properties are provided. The nonwoven fabrics may include one or more nonwoven layers, in which one or more of the nonwoven layers may include a liquid-barrier-enhancing-additive (LBEA) comprising an amide. The nonwoven fabrics may be suitable for use in a wide variety of liquid barrier applications, including facemasks, surgical gowns, surgical drapes, lab coats, and barrier components of absorbent articles (e.g., barrier leg cuffs).
SPUNBONDED WEB COMPRISING POLYLACTIC ACID FIBERS
Spunbonded electret webs comprising polylactic acid fibers, in which at least some of the polylactic acid fibers are meltspun, drawn, charged fibers that include charging additive; and, methods of making such fibers and webs.
Spunbond Polycarbonate Resin Filter Media
The invention concerns spunbond nonwoven fabrics comprising a plurality of bicomponent filaments, the bicomponent filaments having a segmented pie cross-sectional configuration including a polycarbonate component and a polypropylene component, wherein a ratio of the polypropylene component to the polycarbonate component is between about 5:95 and about 95:5.
CARBON FILM FOR FLUID SEPARATION, FLUID SEPARATION FILM MODULE, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING CARBON FILM FOR FLUID SEPARATION
The present invention provides a carbon membrane for fluid separation with which a high-pressure fluid can be separated and purified and which has excellent pressure resistance and is less apt to be damaged. The present invention relates to a carbon membrane for fluid separation, including: a core layer which has a co-continuous porous structure; and a skin layer which has substantially no co-continuous porous structure and is formed around the core layer.
