COVERED ENDOPROSTHESIS WITH IMPROVED BRANCH ACCESS
An endoprosthesis may include an expandable framework including an anchoring portion and a body portion extending axially from the anchoring portion, the body portion having a plurality of body cells; and a polymeric cover disposed on at least a portion of the expandable framework. The anchoring portion includes a first transverse flange and a second transverse flange proximate the first transverse flange, the first and second transverse flanges being configured to secure the anchoring portion at an orifice of a body lumen. The body portion includes a window through a side of the body portion, the window occupying space equivalent to at least two of the plurality of body cells. The window is devoid of the polymeric cover and any other structure within a perimeter of the window.
Tapered tubular implant formed from woven fabric
A tubular woven implantable graft having a tapered section is provided. The graft includes a first diameter and a second diameter and has a generally constant number of warp yarns per inch adjacent both the first diameter and the second diameter. A method for producing an implantable woven graft is also provided. The method includes weaving a first section having a first diameter and a tapered diameter tapering from the first diameter to a second diameter. During weaving of the tapered section a number of warp yarns are dropped from the weave and compressive forces are applied to the fabric to narrow the width of the fabric.
ARTIFICIAL BLOOD VESSEL AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR
An artificial blood vessel and a method for preparing the same are disclosed. The method includes: weaving warp yarns and weft yarns to form interlaced first and second weaves, both weaves extend along a weft direction and alternate to obtain a composite fabric; and successively corrugating and thermal-setting the composite fabric to obtain the artificial blood vessel. In the composite structure of the artificial blood vessel with the alternating the first and second weaves formed by the warp and weft yarns, a softness degree of the first weave is lower than that of the second weave. As a result, combining stiffness of the first weave with softness of the second weave, this composite structure ensures both low permeability and increased softness of the fabric. Therefore, it is improved to a certain extent over the conventional woven artificial blood vessels and is easier to handle and suture.
Devices for assisting with heart valve manufacturing
An assistance system that can be used for prosthetic heart valve manufacturing or suturing procedures includes an automated fixture that can comprise an articulation arm and a target device holder. The target device holder can be positioned and oriented to reduce operator strain during a manufacturing or inspection process. The assistance system includes a user input device enabling the operator to move between positions to assist in such processes. The assistance system can also be trained by capturing sequences of position data corresponding to a manufacturing or inspection process.

STENT FOR SPLINTING A VEIN, AND SYSTEM FOR PUTTING IN PLACE A STENT
The invention relates to a stent and a system for putting in place a stent. Said stent is used especially for splinting a vein and consists of a braided, tubular supporting member (2) that has a minimum length of 60 mm. The supporting member is braided from one or more wires in such a way that portions of the wire or wires, resp., delimit rhombuses. The disclosed stent is characterized in that in the unloaded state of the stent, the longitudinal size of most of the rhombuses (7) in the longitudinal direction (15) of the stent (1) is not shorter than the transversal size of the rhombuses.
