Mobility apparatus
A mobility apparatus having: a base having casters; a handle assembly pivotally attached to the base; a locking mechanism operable to place the handle assembly into a plurality of positions corresponding to an operating mode of the apparatus, and maintain the handle assembly in one of the plurality of positions; an actuating mechanism coupled to the locking mechanism to actuate the locking mechanism; and wherein the locking mechanism comprises: a hub fixedly secured to the base; a hub ring rotatably secured within the hub and comprising attachment means for the handle assembly; a gas spring mechanism coupled to the hub ring to provide a mechanical advantage to assist an operator in lifting a patient; a breaking mechanism for the casters, wherein the breaking mechanism is operable to lock and unlock the casters simultaneously.
Wire activated rim brake system for a rollator
A wire activated rim brake system for a rollator partly positioned inside a rollator frame is disclosed. The system compromises a brake housing positioned close to a wheel of the rollator and inside the rollator frame, wherein the housing compromises an entry opening and sliding surfaces oriented at a right angle to the rotational axis of the wheel. The system further compromises a brake assembly to be positioned in the housing compromising a sliding section adapted to the slide along the sliding surfaces inside the housing and a brake section extending at a right angle from the sliding section and protruding through the entry opening. The system also comprises a brake path on the inner rim of the rollator wheel which is parallel with the rotational axis of the wheel.
Walker comprising toilet seat lifting mechanism
The presently disclosed subject matter is directed to a walker comprising a portable lift toilet seat. Particularly, the walker is defined by a frame that supports a toilet seat, a cover, and a pair of actuators. The cover provides a privacy feature, hiding the toilet seat from view during normal operation of the walker. When needed, the cover can be lifted or folded away to allow the user to access the toilet seat. The toilet seat can then be lifted and/or lowered by actuators positioned on either side of the walker. In this way, a user can easily be positioned over a toilet to use the bathroom without the need for a caregiver to lift and lower him. The user can also be lifted after they are done using the bathroom to return to a standing position or sitting position.
COLLAPSIBLE WHEELED WALKER WITH STABILITY ENHANCING BRACKET APPARATUS AND METHOD
The disclosure demonstrates a collapsible wheeled walker having two side frames supported above a walking surface with attached wheel assemblies. The side frames are interconnected by an X-folder apparatus. The X-folder apparatus has first and second elongate elements rotatably coupled to each other with the bottom ends of the elements rotatably attached to the bottoms of the side frames, and the top ends of the elements having perpendicular support elements that in the deployed open position, engage support brackets formed on the inner sides of the side frames. The support brackets have protrusions extending from bracket support surfaces to engage complementary apertures formed in the perpendicular support elements to provide stability to the wheeled walker.
Mobility Device for Varying Surfaces
The present disclosure relates to devices and systems related to a modular leg component for a mobility walker. Namely, a device including a leg component that includes a first surface and a second surface is described. The first surface and the second surface may be constructed from materials with a different hardness from one another. The surfaces are configured to be movable relative one another. For example, at least one of the first surface or the second surface is rotatable about an axis such that in a first configuration the first surface is arranged to contact a ground surface and in a second configuration the second surface is arranged to contact the ground surface.
KNEE WALKER WITH FOUR-WHEEL STEERING
A knee walker with four-wheel steering. The knee walker includes a frame, at least one front axle assembly, at least one rear axle assembly, a kneeling pad assembly, and a steering system. The steering system is configured to turn the rear axle assembly in the opposite direction from the front axle assembly. The opposing angles of the front and rear wheels enable the knee walker to perform tighter turns by eliminating rear wheel drag.
Fall-resistant method of intelligent rollator, intelligent rollator and controller thereof
Disclosed is a fall-resistant control method for an intelligent rollator, an intelligent rollator and a controller. The intelligent rollator has a vehicle body, front wheels and/or rear wheels configured at the bottom of the vehicle body and driven by a motor. The fall-resistant control method includes: recording the current position of the motor as the initial position when the moving speed of the intelligent rollator exceeds a first threshold and the acceleration of the intelligent rollator exceeds a second threshold; determining a first braking torque according to the position change of the motor relative to the initial position, wherein the greater the position change, the greater the first braking torque; determining a second braking torque according to the moving speed and/or acceleration of the intelligent rollator, wherein the greater the moving speed and/or the acceleration, the greater the second braking torque; determining the fall-resistant braking torque according to the first braking torque and the second braking torque.
Monocoque ambulation aid
Example ambulation aid apparatus and associated methods of manufacture are disclosed and described herein. An example ambulation aid apparatus includes an ambulation aid body formed as an integral part, the integral part formed in monocoque construction to provide support for mobility of a user through the integral part, the integral part providing a plurality of grippable areas to facilitate user movement and support through the integral part. Another example ambulation aid apparatus includes a primary panel formed in monocoque construction to provide support for and assist in mobility of a user through the skin of the monocoque primary panel, the primary panel formed to interrelate with one or more subassemblies to provide an integrated monocoque part to assist in providing support for and improved mobility of the user through the integrated monocoque part. Example methods of manufacture are also disclosed and described.
POWERED WALKER DEVICE, SYSTEM AND METHOD
Embodiments of the present disclosure include a walker equipped with one or more sensors, an onboard controller, powered wheels and associated motor controllers. The walker can sense its distance from the user and activate the powered wheels when commanded by the controller. The controller can execute programming including an automatic feedback control algorithm that regulates the distance between the walker frame and the user. In this manner, the walker automatically follows the user, keeping the user from having to expend energy to pull the walker along. The walker can then be utilized by the user solely for balance and support.
Rollator
A rollator includes a collapsible frame supported on a plurality of wheels, a seat supported on the frame, a pair of handlebars, and a braking mechanism.
