Methods, systems and devices for detectable warnings are disclosed.

Orientation for visually impaired passengers on-board a vehicle
10336250 · 2019-07-02 · ·

To provide improved guidance for visually impaired passengers in lavatory situations on-board of vehicles, a vehicle guidance system for guiding visually impaired passengers on-board a vehicle is provided. The vehicle guidance system includes an interior space on-board the vehicle with at least one lavatory with enclosing cabin walls, and at least one guiding sanitary-handrail. The guiding sanitary-handrail is mounted along at least a part of the enclosing cabin walls inside the lavatory. The guiding sanitary-handrail is provided as a tactile guide. Further, the guiding handrail is provided with visually highlighted information and manually touchable information, both related to cabin information. Still further, a plurality of operating elements for controlling functions of the lavatory is provided inside the lavatory, and at least a part of the operating elements is arranged on the guiding sanitary-handrail.

WARNING DOME DEVICE AND MANUFACTURE METHOD THEREOF
20240180771 · 2024-06-06 ·

A patterned warning mat according to the present disclosure having a base and a plurality of domes and patterns formed on the base. The warning mat is obtained by a process comprising the steps of providing an open-face mold having a plurality of textures and a plurality of dome indentations, preparing a liquid mixture capable of solidifying, pouring the mixture over the open-face mold, and allowing the mixture to solidify and form the warning mat. The domes and patterns on the warning mat respectively correspond to the dome indentations and textures of the open-face mold.

APPARATUS FOR USE IN A VIRTUAL REALITY SYSTEM

A virtual reality system is described herein. The virtual reality system includes a cane controller and a computing system. The cane controller comprises a rod, a sensor, and a brake mechanism, wherein the sensor is configured to generate a signal that is indicative of position, direction of movement, and velocity of the rod, and wherein the brake mechanism is configured to apply a force to the rod. The computing system receives the signal, computes a position, direction of movement, and velocity of a virtual rod in a virtual space, and outputs a control signal to the brake mechanism based upon such computation. The brake mechanism applies the force to the rod in a direction and with a magnitude indicated in the control signal, thereby preventing the user from causing the virtual rod to penetrate a virtual barrier in the virtual space.

Obstacle data providing system, data processing apparatus and method of providing obstacle data

An obstacle data providing system includes a data processing apparatus that includes an electronic data providing unit that refers to an obstacle data storage unit that stores obstacle data generated by synthesizing a plurality of obstacle factors each of which becomes an obstacle in travelling of a low-speed vehicle, and sends, upon receiving a request for an electronic map from a terminal device, the obstacle data to the terminal device with an electronic map via a network; and the terminal device that includes a receiving unit that receives the electronic map and the obstacle data, and a display unit that displays the obstacle data with the electronic map, received by the receiving unit, on a display.

DECORATIVE DETECTABLE WARNING PANEL HAVING IMPROVED GRIP

The present invention relates to detectable warning panels, and in particular to detectable warning panels that display text and/or other graphic information such as commercial messages, trademarks, logos, directions, slogans, pictures, names, product illustrations, emblems, promotional information related to a product or service, Quick Response Codes, matrix code, two-dimensional bar code, optical machine-readable labels, and combinations thereof.

Advantageous detectable warning area and methods of forming the same
10184216 · 2019-01-22 ·

Detectable warning areas (DWAs) and methods of forming the same are provided. A mat template having one or more holes can be placed over a substrate, and a dome-forming material can be filled in the mat template by pouring the dome-forming material over the mat template and working the dome-forming material into the one or more holes of the mat template. The mat template can remain in place until the dome-forming material is completely cured, and then the mat template can be removed. DWAs formed according to this method display improved properties, including increased bond strength.

Disclosed herein is a tactile floor surface comprising one or more tactile profiles protruding from the floor surface, each tactile profile comprising: a first layer, and a second layer positioned over the first layer, wherein the first layer has a visibly distinguishable property such that, in use, when the second layer wears away, the visibly distinguishable property is revealed.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETECTING OBJECTS AND NAVIGATION

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a process by which first data is received from a mobile device regarding first objects detected by the mobile device in an area, the first data having been collected by the mobile device at a number of first collection points while moving along a first path from an initial position in the area to a boundary of the area. The first data is aggregated with second data previously collected regarding second objects in the area, the second data having been collected at a number of second collection points along a second path different from the first path. The second data includes a position indicator for each of the second objects indexed by the initial position. A map of the area is generated based on the aggregating and the map is transmitted to the mobile device. Other embodiments are disclosed.
