MOLDING ROLL FOR MAKING PAPER PRODUCTS
A roll for molding a fibrous sheet. The roll includes a cylindrical shell and a vacuum box. The cylindrical shell is configured to be rotatably driven and is permeable to allow air to be moved through the cylindrical shell. The cylindrical shell has a permeable patterned surface on an exterior surface of the cylindrical shell. The permeable patterned surface has at least one of a plurality of recesses and a plurality of projections. The density of the at least one of the plurality of recesses and the plurality of projections is greater than about fifty per square inch. The vacuum box is positioned on the inside of the cylindrical shell and is configured to draw air from the exterior surface of the cylindrical shell to an interior surface of the cylindrical shell. The vacuum box is stationary with respect to the rotation of the cylindrical shell.

METHODS OF MAKING PAPER PRODUCTS USING A MOLDING ROLL
A method of making a fibrous sheet. The method includes forming a nascent web from an aqueous solution of paper-making fibers, moving a dewatered web on a transfer surface, and applying a vacuum at a molding zone defined between the transfer surface and a molding roll. The molding roll includes a permeable patterned surface on an exterior of the molding roll. The method also includes transferring the dewatered web from the transfer surface to the permeable patterned surface at the molding zone. The vacuum is applied during the transferring of the dewatered web, and the papermaking fibers of the dewatered web are (i) redistributed on the permeable patterned surface and (ii) drawn into a plurality of recess of the permeable patterned surface, in order to form a molded paper web. The method further includes drying the molded paper web in a drying section to form a fibrous sheet.
Sheet former
To provide a sheet former capable of suitably regulating the thickness of a sheet forming body in a width direction in response to factors changing with time. A sheet former includes at least one vessel which stores slurry as a raw material, a wire cylinder immersed in the slurry inside the vessel and making sheets from solid components in the slurry while being rotated, and a sheet-forming amount regulator which regulates an amount of the solid components for making sheets by the wire cylinder in a width direction in accordance with a thickness of a sheet forming body in the approximately width direction formed for making sheets by the wire cylinder.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING WATERMARKED PAPER
A method for manufacturing watermarked paper, comprising: a step of forming a first fibrous panel which comprises at least one watermark element; a step of forming a second, thin fibrous panel; a step of removal, by way of suction, of at least one portion of the second, thin fibrous panel in order to produce a localized reduction in thickness at a first face of the second, thin fibrous panel, so as to provide at least one accommodation seat intended to accommodate a security element; a step of coupling between the first fibrous panel and the face of the second, thin fibrous panel which lies opposite the first face.
Sheet manufacturing apparatus
Disclosed is a sheet manufacturing apparatus including a rotatable drum unit in which a plurality of openings are formed; a web forming unit that forms a web by using a material containing fibers passing through the openings; a housing unit that covers at least a portion of the drum unit in which the openings are formed; a material supply port that is provided to supply the material in a direction along a rotational axis of the drum unit to the inside of the drum unit by airflow; and an air intake port that is provided to supply air that does not contain the material in the direction along the rotational axis of the drum unit to the inside of the drum unit. The web forming unit includes a mesh belt on which the material is deposited and a suction unit that sucks the material onto the mesh belt.
