Smooth and bulky rolled tissue products

The novel tissue products of the present invention are generally produced by calendering a tissue basesheet using at least one patterned roll. In one embodiment the patterned roll replaces the flat steel roll commonly used in calendering. The elements on the patterned roll provide a means of providing a nip having variable loading that yields a web having a smooth surface without subjecting the web to excessive compression forces and preventing excessive caliper loss. Thus, webs converted according to the present invention have comparable or better surface smoothness compared to webs converted using conventional calendering means and also retain a greater percentage of their caliper and bulk.

The present invention relates to a crescent former for producing tissue paper, the former comprising a forming section (A), a press section (B) and a drying section (C), wherein the crescent former further comprises a felt fabric (41) for carrying the stock from the forming nip (15) of the forming section (A) to the press nip (22) of the press section (B), and the felt fabric (41) being configured to carry the stock to the press nip (22) where the stock is transferred to the drying section (C), wherein further the felt fabric (41) is configured to be returned from the press nip (22) to the forming nip (15) in a return section (D) such that the felt fabric (41) forms an endless loop, wherein the return section (D) comprises a cleaning station (42), of which at least a part is arranged in a negative machine direction (-MD) in relation to a center line (R) of the forming roll (12).

A TISSUE PAPER MAKING MACHINE

The invention relates to a tissue paper making machine designed for possible rebuild from one concept to another. The machine comprises a forming section (2) and a Yankee drying cylinder (3) mounted to be rotatable about a first axis of rotation (A1). The forming section has a forming roll mounted for rotation about a second axis of rotation (A2) which is parallel to the first axis of rotation (A1). The forming section (2) has a head box (5) and a first and a second forming fabric (6,7). The head box (5) is arranged to inject stock into a gap (8) between the first forming fabric (6) and the second forming fabric (7). The first forming fabric (6) is a felt that forms a loop and is arranged to carry a newly formed fibrous web (W) from the forming section (2) to the Yankee drying cylinder (3). The tissue paper making machine (1) comprises a press roll (9) arranged inside the loop of the first forming fabric (6) and forming a nip (N) against the Yankee drying cylinder (3). The distance (X) in the horizontal direction between the first axis of rotation (A1) and the second axis of rotation (A2) is in the range of 18 m-40 m.

METHOD AND MACHINE FOR PRODUCING A FIBROUS WEB WHICH CAN BE ELONGATED IN THE TRANSVERSE DIRECTION
20230103146 · 2023-03-30 · ·

A method for producing a web of fibrous material includes the steps of: bringing the web into contact with a heated cylinder, the web being able to be elongated in a transverse direction; guiding the web, together with an elastic belt, over the heated cylinder, the web being between the elastic belt and a cylinder surface; pressing the web against the heated cylinder by the elastic belt; subjecting the elastic belt to a pre-tensioning—which is at least one of variably adjustable and controllable—in the transverse direction before being brought into contact with the web; and relieving the pre-tensioning of the elastic belt generated in the transverse direction again after formation of a steam cushion between the web and the heated cylinder, such that the web is shrunk with the elastic belt in the transverse direction in a sliding manner over the steam cushion on the heated cylinder.

Device and Method for Producing a Fibrous Web

A device and a method for producing a pulp web in which the first clothing and the second clothing are wrapped partly round the forming roll and another roll. The pulp web formed is guided between the forming roll and the other roll on the first clothing and the second clothing is guided separately from the first clothing, at least in one section. This enables the pulp web to be produced with low energy consumption and operating costs.

Machine and method for producing a fibrous web

A machine for producing a fibrous web, such as a tissue web, has pressing device with a pressing element and a counter-element with a closed surface for forming a pressure nip. A water-absorbing belt with a web side and an opposite pressing element side is guided together with the fibrous web through the pressure nip and the fibrous web is separated at the end of the pressure nip from the web side of the water-absorbing belt and runs further with the counter-element. The water-absorbing belt has at least a first ply and a second ply, and, as viewed in the thickness direction of the water-absorbing belt, a layer in or on the belt half which faces the pressing element, which layer has a higher specific throughflow resistance than the first ply and/or the second ply.
