Fibrous structures
Fibrous structures, and more particularly sanitary tissue products containing fibrous structures having a surface exhibiting a three-dimensional (3D) pattern such that the fibrous structure and/or sanitary tissue product exhibits novel properties compared to known fibrous structures and/or sanitary tissue products, and methods for making same are provided.
Doctor blade device
The invention below relates to a doctor blade device with an elongated doctor blade intended to operate continuously against a roll surface (2) and/or a cylinder surface (20) during scraping or wiping off material (IB) on the surface (20), which doctor blade device (5) comprises a carrier beam (10) adapted to the length of the roll surface or cylinder surface, which carrier beam has a clamping arrangement (4) for the positioning of a carrier part (3), arranged, in a groove in the longitudinal direction, to slidably carry the doctor blade (6), wherein the carrier part (3) comprises a carrier blade (30), a lip means (14) arranged at the carrier blade (30) and a spacer element (12) arranged between the lip means (14) and the carrier blade, wherein the carrier blade (30), the lip means (14), and the spacer element (12) are arranged, along a first long side edge of the carrier blade (30) between them, to form said groove (15) for slidable positioning in the longitudinal direction of the doctor blade (6) by support of the carrier blade (30), the lip (14), and the spacer element (12).
Doctor blade handling system
A doctoring apparatus has a flexible doctor blade advanced longitudinally across a surface being doctored. The doctor blade is feed in a continuous length from a storage cartridge and sequentially supported in a blade holder to apply the blade to a moving surface to be doctored. One or both of a pneumatic blade advancing device and a pneumatically operated clamping system are opened and closed in timed sequence with reciprocation of the blade holder longitudinally shifting the doctor blade in a selected direction across the doctored surface. The pneumatic blade advancing device includes an idler roller and a powered roller that co-operate to indexingly advance the doctor blade along the blade path. The clamping system includes a blade cutter to cut the doctor blade and that drives the cut off end of the doctor blade into a discard container.
SHEET CHARACTERIZATION OF CREPE PAPER
The current method relates to an on-line characterization of paper or paper products, such as tissue or other crepe paper products. The method uses an imaging source wherein one or more images are obtained of the sheets surface or topographical area or region, or the image is of an edge of a formed sheet. The one or more images are enhanced and analyzed using various techniques and metrics for characterizing the structure of the formed sheet. The information provides for real time adjustments on the machine.
Stud for a Doctor Blade Holder in a Fiber Web Machine and Doctor Blade Assembly for a Fiber Web Machine
A plurality of studs mount a doctor blade holder to a doctor back in a fiber web machine for slidable extraction of the doctor blade holder in the cross machine direction. Each stud (15) has a body (16) with a cylindrical center segment with a protruding nonround flange (17) formed as a single piece with the center segment. Opposed flats of the nonround flange of the body (16) may be engaged by the opposed parallel jaws of a conventional wrench allowing ready attachment of the studs to the doctor blade holder and subsequent installing within the channel of a rail which is mounted to the doctor back. A slide bar may be fixed to the doctor blade holder to extend out of the rail for engagement and extraction of the doctor blade holder.
BRACKET FOR A PIVOT ROD IN A DOCTOR ARRANGEMENT AND DOCTOR ARRANGEMENT FOR A FIBER WEB MACHINE
The invention relates to a bracket for a pivot rod in a doctor arrangement. The bracket has a base with a mounting aperture and adjacent ears with a hole for a pivot rod arranged perpendicular to the base. The bracket is a cast or 3D-printed piece. The invention also relates a doctor arrangement for a fiber web machine.
HINGE/TAPER CLAMP ROD HOLDER INSERT
A metering rod holder assembly for supporting a metering rod in compressive engagement with a surface from which a fluid is to be metered. The rod holder assembly includes a base member having a channel opening to a first face thereof, and a rod bed insert at least partially received in the channel of the base member in spaced relation to a base wall of the channel. The rod bed insert includes a metering rod slot for receiving a metering rod, and a flank engaging surface engaged with at least one flank surface of the base member, the rod bed insert movable from a first position to a second position within the channel.
Fibrous structures
A fibrous structure. The structure may include a plurality of continuous or semi-continuous knuckles extending from portions of the surface of the fibrous structure in a parallel path, wherein the plurality of knuckles may be separated by adjacent continuous or semi-continuous pillows. Each knuckle may comprise a plurality of discrete pillows, the plurality of discrete pillows may be arranged in a spaced configuration along the path of each knuckle; alternatively, each pillow may comprise a plurality of discrete knuckles, the plurality of discrete knuckles may be arranged in a spaced configuration along the path of each pillow.
