Cellulosic fiber additive formed from Kombucha biofilms
Application of KBC as a unique form of and source of nano-crystalline cellulose having viability for use in place of or in conjunction with alternative fiber additives, such as for paper products and reinforced paper composites.
SYSTEM AND METHOD OF DYNAMIC CORRECTIVE ENZYME SELECTION AND FORMULATION FOR PULP AND PAPER PRODUCTION
Systems and methods as disclosed herein automatically provide real-time dosing corrections for an industrial process wherein enzyme blends are applied to natural fibers for pulp/paper production. An initial enzyme blend (e.g., enzymes and supporting formulation components, as relevant) and respective dose rates are selected to be applied based on expected fiber surface substrate characterization, expected fiber quality characterization, the physical conditions of the system being treated, respective characteristics of the initially selected enzyme blend components, etc. Upon application of the initial enzyme blend, online sensors provide real-time feedback data corresponding to measured actual values for the fiber surface substrate characterization and fiber quality characterization. A replacement enzyme blend (enzymes and supporting formulation components) and respective dose rates thereof is dynamically selected based on the feedback data. The enzyme dosing stage can be optimized responsive to product changes and/or variations in fiber sources/blend and/or physical conditions, substantially in real time.
Improving drainage of paper pulp
The use of GH61 polypeptides in the treatment of pulp, for improving the freeness of the pulp, and/or for improving the short span compression strength of paper materials made from the pulp, such as paper, linerboard, corrugated paperboard, tissue, towels, corrugated containers and boxes.
METHODS OF PRODUCING A PAPER PRODUCT
An omnibus process of pulping and bleaching lignocellulosic materials in which a charge of a lignocellulosic material is biopulped and/or water extracted prior to pulping and bleaching. The lignocellulosic material may be mechanically pulped and bleached in the presence of an enzyme that breaks lignin-carbohydrate complexes.
Method for determination of microorganisms
The present invention relates to determination of the microorganism content in material comprising cellulose within the pulp and paper industry. The material comprising cellulose is enzymatically pretreated and microorganisms are determined using PCR based technology.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR THE USE OF SLICE GROUPS IN ENCODING MULTI-VIEW VIDEO CODING (MVC) INFORMATION
There are provided methods and apparatus for the use of slice groups in encoding and decoding multi-view video coding (MVC) information. An apparatus and method are described which encodes at least two views corresponding to multi-view video content using multiple slice groups. Furthermore, an apparatus and method are described for decoding at least two views corresponding to multi-view video content using multiple slice groups.
METHOD OF PRODUCING ABSORBENT STRUCTURES WITH HIGH WET STRENGTH, ABSORBENCY, AND SOFTNESS
A method of making an absorbent structure including forming a stock mixture of fibers, a cationic wet strength resin, an anionic polyacrylamide and a cellulase enzyme, and at least partially drying the stock mixture to form a web.
Methods and apparatus for the use of slice groups in encoding multi-view video coding (MVC) information
There are provided methods and apparatus for the use of slice groups in encoding and decoding multi-view video coding (MVC) information. An apparatus (100) and method (500) are described which encodes at least two views corresponding to multi-view video content using multiple slice groups (510, 515, 520). Furthermore, an apparatus (200) and method (600) are described for decoding at least two views corresponding to multi-view video content using multiple slice groups (620).
Seaweed-based food packaging coating
A food packaging material comprises a paper, paperboard or cardboard substrate and a barrier coating on the substrate, wherein the barrier coating comprises the combination of starch, seaweed extract and paper fibers.
