PRINTABLE MEDIUM
A printable medium with a non-woven base composite supporting substrate; at least two coating layers, on the image side of the composite supporting substrate, that include an ink fixing layer, directly applied upon the supporting substrate, comprising a salt; and an image receiving layer, applied over the ink fixing layer, including pigment fillers and polymeric binders; and a barrier layer, containing a flame-retardant agent, applied on the backside of the composite supporting substrate. Also disclosed are the method for producing printed images using said media and the resulting printed material.
Treated article, methods of making the treated article, and dispersion for use in making the treated article
A treated article includes fibers, a sizing agent, and a retention aid. The sizing agent includes a wax or a component thereof having an acid value of from 10 mg to 220 mg, KOH/g as measured in accordance with USP 401. The retention aid includes a nitrogen-containing polymer independently selected from the group consisting of (i) a nitrogen-containing polymer of Formula I, (ii) a polyethyleneimine, (iii) a polyaminoamide, (iv) a copolymer formed from the reaction product of epichlorohydrin and dimethylamine, and (v) combinations thereof.

LATEX FORMULATION WITH A MULTIVALENT METAL ION
The present invention relates to composition and an article prepared by applying the composition to paper. The composition comprises an aqueous dispersion of acrylic or styrene acrylic polymer particles having a hard phase and a soft phase, wherein both phases comprise structural units of an specific acid monomer. The composition further includes sub-stoichiometric levels of a Zn.sup.++ or Zr.sup.++++ with respect to the carboxylic acid groups. The composition is useful as imparting block and tack resistance as a coating on paper.
A GROUND COVER MULCH IMPREGNATED WITH SUPERCRITICAL FLUID COMPRISING A COLORANT
A ground cover in the form of a mulch, allowing air and moist to permeate, which includes a paper substrate originating from fibre-bearing pulp, preferably emanating from lignocellulosic material, which has been web-formed or sheet-formed, characterized in that the substrate has been impregnated with supercritical fluid, preferably CO2, alternatively a fluid under high pressure such as near supercritical conditions, wherein also one or more colorant(s) is (are) present in said fluid. Also a method for its manufacture and use thereof are disclosed.
