Provided is a textile printing paper for use in a paper printing method, which textile printing paper has an ability to produce a high-resolution image and enables favorable color development on a printing substrate and is excellent in adhesiveness of a printed paper to a printing substrate. The textile printing paper has a base sheet and a glue layer on a surface of the base sheet, the base sheet having a compression layer on at least a glue layer side, the compression layer at least comprising a pigment and a binder, wherein the base sheet has a compression ratio of 1.5 or more as calculated by the formula given below from the smoothness measured using a soft backing at clamp air supply pressures of 300 kPa and 2000 kPa according to JIS P 8151:2004.

Smoking articles having reduced ignition proclivity characteristics

Smoking articles having reduced ignition proclivity characteristics are disclosed. The smoking articles include a paper wrapper containing cellulosic fibers and filler particles. The paper wrappers are treated with a film-forming composition in order to reduce the ignition proclivity characteristics of the smoking articles. In one embodiment, the film-forming composition contains an alginate combined with a starch. In an alternative embodiment, the film-forming composition contains a film-forming material combined with filler particles. The filler particles may comprise kaolin clay, magnesium oxide, mica, alum, or mixtures thereof.

Smoking articles having reduced ignition proclivity characteristics are disclosed. The smoking articles include a paper wrapper containing cellulosic fibers and filler particles. In one embodiment, the film-forming composition contains an alginate combined with a starch. A method for manufacturing a film, wherein said film has a basis weight of less than 50 g/m.sup.2 and wherein the density of the film is higher than 750 kg/m.sup.2 comprising the steps of: providing a suspension comprising microfibrillated cellulose (MFC); forming a web of said suspension on a porous wire, microfibrillated cellulose (MFC); surface sizing said web, wherein the web, at the beginning of the surface sizing step, has a moisture content in the range of from 10 to 50 wt-%; drying said surface sized web to a final moisture content of between 0.1-20 wt-% to form said film.

Packaging paper for food, with a basis weight from 20 g/m.sup.2 to 50 g/m.sup.2, comprising cellulose fibers and one or more filler materials, wherein the total amount of filler materials is between 5% by weight and 20% by weight with respect to the weight of the packaging paper, wherein the packaging paper comprises a sizing agent that is contained in such an amount that a relative water absorption of 0.4 to 0.7 is obtained on both sides, wherein the relative water absorption is defined as the quotient of the Cobb.sub.60 value, determined in accordance with ISO 535:2014, and the basis weight, has a coating on at least one side that comprises nanoparticles of a starch, wherein the coating contains between 1 g/m.sup.2 and 6 g/m.sup.2 of said nanoparticles, does not contain any compounds with the structure CF.sub.3(CF.sub.2).sub.n(CH.sub.2).sub.mX, wherein n=5 or n=7 and m=0, 1 or 2 and X is a hydroxyl group (X=OH) or a carboxyl group (X=COOH), or the proportion of such compounds in the total mass of the packaging paper is less than 0.1, and has a resistance against greases and oils of 6 to 12, described by the KIT level in accordance with TAPPI T559 cm12, wherein in the test in accordance with TAPPI T559 cm12, the at least one side coated with said nanoparticles is exposed to the test liquids.

INORGANIC MATERIAL COMPOSITION AND UTILITIES THEREOF

Inorganic particulate compositions containing inorganic particles associated with a copolymer of a hydrophilic monomer and a hydrophobic monomer associated with the inorganic particles are provided. The particulate composition satisfies at least one of the following properties: a BET surface area of the inorganic particles is greater than 8 m.sup.2/g, a Hegman value of the inorganic particles is 75 microns or less, and
a rate of water loss from the composition upon drying from a moisture level greater than 2% wt % is at least 30% greater than a composition having a corresponding content of a polyacrylate polymer associated with the particles. A method to prepare the composition and formulations for inks, paints, coatings and filled polymeric articles containing the inorganic particulate composition are also provided.

A coating composition for a corrugated paper board is described. The corrugated paper board includes an inner liner sheet and an outer liner sheet adhered to opposite sides of a corrugated medium. The coating composition includes a pre-coat layer and a topcoat layer. The pre-coat layer includes an ink fixer agent and a pigment, and is disposed on one or both of the liner sheets. The topcoat layer is disposed on top of the pre-coat layer to form an ink receiving layer. The topcoat layer includes a wax and is devoid of the ink fixer agent.
