The appliances generally comprise an elongate body having a first span, wherein is a handle region, and a second span that is angled upwards from the first span. In the second span, embodiments for stimulating the Grafenberg area are provided, comprising one or more of a mechanical finger that oscillates in a reciprocal motion within a protuberance that protrudes from the dorsal surface of the second span. In some embodiments, one or more stimulators simulates a range of motion of the back-and-forth movement of one or more human fingers. Thereby, the G-spot stimulating embodiments may directly impinge upon the Grafenberg area when inserted into the vagina, while the precise angle and force of that interaction can also be finely adjusted.

A system and method is disclosed for measuring muscle reflexes (e.g., a bulbocavernosus reflex) as a tool for identifying/diagnosing dysfunctions (e.g., spinal cord abnormalities, bladder voiding dysfunction, and sexual organ dysfunction) non-invasively by using mechanical stimulation. The system and method includes a probe having a predetermined patient contacting portion, wherein when the contacting portion is moved into contact with a particular area of the patient (e.g., the patient's genitals), the contact induces a muscle reflex. The probe detects the pressure resulting from the contacting portion being abruptly and forcibly brought into contact with the particular area. Such detection is used to electronically initiate capture of electrical responses from a plurality of electrodes placed on the patient's skin in proximity to the particular area. Such electrical responses are processed to determine characteristics of the patient's reflexes of one or more muscles adjacent to the electrodes.

The current electric power consumption of at least the first electric motor unit is particularly advantageously determined periodically or continuously, the electric power consumption that has been determined is compared to at least one predefined reference power consumption and the intensity of the massaging motion generated by the second electric motor unit is controlled depending on the result of said comparison.
