Fibrous nonwoven and method for the production thereof
The invention relates to a fibrous nonwoven, in particular for a filter medium, having a first layer, wherein at least one single-piece fiber strand of said first layer has a first fiber portion and a second fiber portion in the longitudinal direction, and wherein the fiber strand has a thickening substantially in said second fiber portion.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING SPUNBONDED FABRIC
A process (100, 101) for the production of spunbonded nonwoven (1) and a device (200, 201) are shown, comprising an embossing pattern (10), wherein a spinning mass (2) is extruded through a plurality of nozzle holes of at least one spinneret (3, 30) to form filaments (4, 40) and the filaments (4, 40) are drawn by a drawing air stream (5, 50), in each case, in the extrusion direction, with the filaments (4, 40) being deposited on a perforated tray (7) of a conveying device (8) to form a spunbonded nonwoven (1). So as to allow an efficient, technically simple and inexpensive introduction of the embossing pattern into the spunbonded nonwoven, it is suggested that the perforated tray (7) has an embossing structure (9) with an embossing pattern (10), the filaments (4, 40) are pressed into the embossing structure (9) by the drawing air stream (5, 50) and the spunbonded nonwoven (1) thus formed is provided with the embossing pattern (10).
SUBSTITUTED THIOLATE SALT MELT ADDITIVES
Charged polymeric webs, such as electret webs, include a thermoplastic resin and a charge-enhancing additive. The additives are substituted heterocyclic thiolate salts. The heterocyclic thiolate salt has 2 nitrogen groups and a third group that may be an NH, N—NH.sub.2, O, or S group. The substituent group is an aromatic or heterocyclic aromatic group. The electret webs may be a non-woven fibrous web or a film. The electret webs are suitable for use as filter media.
Biologically Degradable Polymer Fibre Made of Renewable Raw Materials
The invention relates to a biologically degradable polymer fibre made of renewable raw materials with good physical properties, as well as a method for its production and its use.

METHOD OF MAKING UNIFORM SPUNBOND FILAMENT NONWOVEN WEBS
A method of making nonwoven webs comprising providing a spinneret including a pattern of conduits forming an extrusion region; directing only a first stream of molten propylene polymer into a region adjacent the first side of the spinneret, directing only a second stream of molten propylene polymer into a region distal to the first side of the spinneret, extruding only the first stream propylene polymer through the exit openings in a first zone where the exit opening comprises exit ports in the first zone having a first density; extruding only the second stream propylene polymer through the exit openings of a second zone where the exit opening comprises exit ports in the second zone having a second density less than the first density; and the second zone is distal to the first side with the first zone being between the second zone and the first side.

Artificial turf with marbled monofilament
A method of manufacturing artificial turf creating a liquid polymer mixture, wherein the polymer mixture is at least a two-phase system. A first one of the phases includes a first polymer and a first dye, and a second one of the phases of the polymer mixture includes a second polymer and a second dye. The second dye has a different color than the first dye, the second polymer being of the same or of a different type as the first polymer. The first and the second phase are immiscible, the first phase forming polymer beads within the second phase. The method further includes extruding the polymer mixture into a monofilament including a marbled pattern of the first and second color; quenching the monofilament; reheating the monofilament; stretching the reheated monofilament to deform the polymer beads into threadlike regions and to form the monofilament into an artificial turf fiber; and incorporating the artificial turf fiber into an artificial turf backing.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING SPUNBONDED FABRIC
A process for the production of spunbonded nonwoven (1) and a device for this purpose are shown, wherein a spinning mass (2) is extruded through a plurality of nozzle holes of at least one spinneret (3) to form filaments (4) and the filaments (4) are charged with a drawing air stream to be drawn in an extrusion direction, wherein the filaments (4) are deposited on a perforated conveying device (9) to form a spunbonded nonwoven (1) and wherein the spunbonded nonwoven (1) is subsequently subjected to at least one washing (10) and one drying (12) by means of hot air (15), with, in each case, one exhaust air stream (18, 19) being discharged during the drawing and washing (10). So as to be able to reduce the energy consumption in the process during the drying of the spunbonded nonwoven without decreasing the product quality, it is suggested that the hot air (15) for drying (12) is generated at least partially by preheating an air stream (16) by means of one of the exhaust air streams (18, 19) from the drawing and washing (10).
