Handheld device with motorized member for treatment of disorders
A handheld device for applying mechanical vibration to a body portion of an individual to treat a condition of the individual, includes: a housing; a member having a portion that is moveable relative to the housing, wherein the portion of the member is configured to oscillate to apply the mechanical vibration to the body portion, the member having an elongated configuration; and a motor having a weight that is supported by the member.
Treatment methods using handheld devices for disorders
A method to treat a dry eye condition of an individual, includes: receiving a switch signal generated based on a manipulation of a control switch at a handheld device; and activating a motor in response to the switch signal to oscillate a member at an oscillation frequency, the member having an elongated configuration, and having a portion for placement outside the individual; wherein the oscillation frequency is sufficient to induce tear production when the portion of the member is applied towards a surface of a body portion of the individual.
Devices for gastrointestinal stimulation and uses thereof
A gastrointestinal stimulation devices including a random stimulation delivery mechanism(s), configured to provide stimuli to a bodily tissue in a vicinity of the stimulation capsule, the provided random stimuli being characterized by a stimulation parameter, and a control circuitry in communication with said physical stimulation delivery mechanism, and configured to set and alter the stimulation parameter non-systematically, thereby altering the characterization of the stimuli provided to the bodily tissue. The algorithm may be patient tailored, and may have a learning machinery which responds to data being received from the patient.
NASAL STIMULATION DEVICES AND METHODS FOR TREATING DRY EYE
Described here are devices, systems, and methods for treating one or more conditions (such as dry eye) or improving ocular health by providing stimulation to nasal or sinus tissue. Generally, the devices may be handheld or implantable. In some variations, the handheld devices may have a stimulator body and a stimulator probe having one or more nasal insertion prongs. When the devices and systems are used to treat dry eye, nasal or sinus tissue may be stimulated to increase tear production, reduce the symptoms of dry eye, and/or improve ocular surface health.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR GENERATING DAMPED ELECTROMAGNETICALLY ACTUATED PLANAR MOTION FOR AUDIO-FREQUENCY VIBRATIONS
A vibration module for applying vibrational tractions to a wearer's skin is presented. Use of the vibration module in headphones is illustrated for providing tactile sensations of low frequency for music, for massage, and for electrical recording and stimulation of the wearer. Damped, planar, electromagnetically-actuated vibration modules of the moving magnet type are presented in theory and reduced to practice, and shown to provide a substantially uniform frequency response over the range 40-200 Hz with a minimum of unwanted audio.
MAGNETICALLY DRIVEN PRESSURE GENERATOR
A magnetically driven pressure generator including a housing, flexible member, first magnetic force generator, and second magnetic force generator. The magnetically driven pressure generator oscillates the flexible member to increase or decrease the volume of a chamber, inversely increasing or decreasing the pressure of the chamber.
DRONE INCLUDING A PIEZOELECTRIC STRUCTURE AND/OR A SELF-ENERGIZING CAPABILITY
A drone equipped with piezoelectric structures and/or a self-energizing capability has increased functionality. The piezoelectric structures can act as a variety of sensors and/or can implement or perform a variety of tasks, especially those associated with assisting a vehicle. The self-energizing capability can extend operations and/or permit a drone low on power to sufficiently recharge to fly home.
MASSAGE GLOVE AND VEHICLE-MOUNTED MASSAGE DEVICE
A massage glove and a vehicle-mounted massage device are provided. The massage glove includes a glove body, at least one acupuncture point massager and a controller. The acupuncture point massager is arranged on the glove body at a position corresponding to an acupuncture point on a hand. The acupuncture point massager is configured to massage the acupuncture point so as to relieve a physical fatigue of a user. The controller is configured to output a control signal to the acupuncture point massager, so as to enable the acupuncture point massager in accordance with the control signal.
Seat
A seat including: a seat surface portion having first and second support surfaces; and a switching mechanism, wherein the seat surface portion is switched by the switching mechanism between: a first posture in which the seat surface portion is brought down to the front side such that the first support surface is in a low position where a seated person is capable of sitting thereon by lowering a hip, and a second posture in which the seat surface portion is brought up to the rear side from the first posture such that the second support surface is in a high position where the seated person in a standing posture is capable of sitting thereon, and wherein a vibration device which is configured to apply vibration corresponding to music to a body of the seated person is disposed at an inner side of the second support surface.
Method of making a wearable thorax percussion device
A wearable thorax percussion device for dislodging mucous buildup in the airways of a human patient, the device comprising frame elements and electromechanical actuators retained by the frame elements to intermittently percuss the thorax, and an electronic controller and power source for generating and modulating an electrical signal to energize the actuator. The frame elements may be interconnected by a garment, or fasteners and elastic or adjustable strapping.
