Polymeric material
A polymeric material that includes a thermoplastic composition containing a continuous phase that includes a matrix polymer and a siloxane component is provided. The siloxane component contains an ultrahigh molecular weight siloxane polymer that is dispersed within the continuous phase in the form of discrete domains. A porous network is defined within the thermoplastic composition that includes a plurality of nanopores.
MATTRESS ASSEMBLIES AND COMPONENTS INCLUDING PHASE CHANGE
Fibers, fabrics, mattresses and processes of making the fibers generally include a microencapsulated phase change material; and a polymer, wherein the microencapsulated phase change material is greater than 50 percent by weight of the fiber. The process for making the fibers is a dry jet/wet spinning process free of sonication.
POROUS CARBON COMPOSITE MATERIAL AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
A manufacturing method of a porous carbon composite material includes the following steps. A polymer template is provided, the polymer template includes a polymer compound, and the polymer template has a plurality of pores. A coating step is performed, wherein a metal compound is coated on the polymer template to form a transition intermediate. A heating step is performed, wherein the transition intermediate is heated to transform the polymer template to a carbon template and transform the metal compound to a coating layer, and a porous carbon composite material is obtained.
Technique for forming porous fibers
A method for forming a fiber is provided. The method comprises extruding a matrix polymer and a nanoinclusion additive to form a thermoplastic composition in which the nanoinclusion additive is dispersed within a continuous phase of the matrix polymer. The extruded thermoplastic composition is thereafter passed through a spinneret to form a fiber having a porous network containing a plurality of nanopores, wherein the average percent volume occupied by the nanopores within a given unit volume of the fiber is from about 3% to about 15% per cm.sup.3.

CARBON HOLLOW FIBRE MEMBRANE
The present invention relates to a process for the production of asymmetric cellulose hollow fibres and the use of such fibres in the production of asymmetric carbon hollow fibre membranes (CHFMs). In particular, the present invention provides a facile and scalable process for the preparation of asymmetric CHFMs by direct pyrolysis of polymeric precursors without the need for complex pre-pyrolysis treatment steps to prevent pore collapse. The present invention also relates to the use of asymmetric CHFMs prepared according to said process in the separation of hydrogen gas from a mixed gas source, especially in the separation of hydrogen from CO.sub.2 in the steam-methane reforming reaction.
Hollow porous fibers
A hollow fiber that generally extends in a longitudinal direction is provided. The hollow fiber comprises a hollow cavity that extends along at least a portion of the fiber in the longitudinal direction. The cavity is defined by an interior wall that is formed front a thermoplastic composition containing a continuous phase that includes a polyolefin matrix polymer and a nanoinclusion additive dispersed within the continuous phase in the form of discrete domains. A porous network is defined in the composition that includes a plurality of nanopores.

Method for preparing porous antibacterial fiber brush
The present disclosure provides a method for preparing a porous antibacterial fiber brush. Fiber masterbatch made of ultra-fine reaming silica gel, silver-based antibacterial agent and other materials is melted, drawn, cut, polished and then dried to make the porous antibacterial fiber brush. A large number of micropores are distributed on the surface of the porous antibacterial fiber brush, which absorb cosmetic residues on the skin surface and tiny dirt in the pores, and realize efficient cleaning of the surface of human skin.
