TRANSMISSION BELT
A power transmission belt includes a belt body made of an elastomer, and a cord made of carbon fibers and provided to be embedded in the belt body and to form a helical pattern having a pitch in the belt width direction. When the cord is viewed from a side orthogonal to its length direction, an angle θ of an outermost filament in the filament bundle of the carbon fibers forming the cord with respect to the length direction of the cord is 8° or more to 20° or less.

Actuating textiles containing polymer fiber muscles
A smart (intelligent) textile that can control its porosity, shape, texture, loft, stiffness, or color by temperature change or moisture absorption by using polymer fiber torsional and tensile actuators. This temperature change can be due to a change in ambient temperature or by an external stimulus, such as electrothermal heating. Mechanisms to accomplish this include (a) direct actuation (contraction or expansion) of polymer fiber actuators in a textile structure (b) rotation of polymer fiber actuators helically wrapped around warp and/or weft yarns in a textile structure; (c) rotation of chenille type or ribbon-like warp (or weft) ends by polymer fiber torsional actuators; (d) contraction or expansion of piles or loops in a chenille type fancy yarn produced by using mandrel actuators as pile or loop part of the yarn; (e) buckling of warp (or weft) yarns by contraction of tensile polymer fiber actuators; (f) decrease in yarn diameter by a twisting effect of polymer fiber actuators; (g) contraction or expansion of segmented mandrel actuators with core filament, wire or yarns; or (h) rotation of differentially dyed polymer fiber actuators for color changing textiles.

ARRANGEMENT COMPRISING A VISIBLE SEAM AND A LIGHTING APPARATUS, USE THEREOF, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE ARRANGEMENT
The invention relates to an arrangement comprising a visible seam, which is arranged in a sheet material part. The arrangement also includes a lighting apparatus, which is arranged beneath an underside of the sheet material part. The visible seam has an upper thread and a lower thread. The lower thread extends along the underside of the sheet material part in a direction (R). The upper thread has first thread portions along the upper side of the sheet material part and is guided, at stitch holes formed during the sewing process, through said stitch holes via second thread portions. By means of the lighting apparatus, emitted light passes into the second thread portions, into the stitch holes, and from there into the first thread portions. Some of the light propagates along the first thread portions, starting from an adjacent second thread portion, whereas another portion of the light exits from the first thread portion. In this way, the upper thread of the visible seam is illuminated.

FIBERS, WOVEN FABRICS INCLUDING THE FIBERS, AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
Fibers, yarns, woven fabric including the yarns and fibers, and methods of manufacturing the same are disclosed. Fibers can include base material staple fibers and dissolvable or water-soluble fibers that are mixed together to define an ultra-homogenous yarn comprising base material and dissolvable material, which is provided in at least the warp direction to form a woven fabric having a 7-end, 8-end or 10-end sateen weave. A processing step provides for the removal of the dissolvable fibers to produce a yarn defining a plurality of pores that are uniformly distributed throughout the structure of the yarn. The woven fabric has a thread count between 450-1200. The woven fabric is thermally-insulative, breathable and moisture-wicking.
