Charge-generating thread for bacterium-countermeasure, cloth for bacterium-countermeasure, cloth, clothing article, medical member, charge-generating thread that acts on living body, and charge-generating thread for substance-adsorption
A charge-generating thread for bacterium-countermeasure that includes a charge-generating fiber. The charge-generating fiber generates a charge by energy imparted from the outside of the fiber so as to restrain the proliferation of bacteria by the generated charge.
ANTIMICROBIAL MULTILAYER KNIT FABRIC HAVING AIR LAYER, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR
The present invention relates to a multilayer knit fabric and a manufacturing method for the same and, more particularly, to an antimicrobial multilayer knit fabric having an air layer and a manufacturing method for the same. The multilayer knit fabric of the present invention comprises an upper knit fabric, a lower knit fabric, and a vertical knit fabric including a monofilament yarn, where the upper and lower knit fabrics are spaced apart from each other by the vertical knit fabric to form an air layer inside.
ANTIVIRAL ARTICLES
Provided is a textile made of filament yarn comprising a polymer composition that is durable and reusable having permanent or near-permanent antiviral properties and that includes a polymer, a metal ion, preferably a zinc and/or copper ion, and an optional phosphorus compound, wherein fibers and/or fabric formed from the polymer composition demonstrate antiviral properties and wherein the polymer is hygroscopic. The present disclosure also describes methods of forming the polymer compositions and methods of preparing fibers from the polymer composition.
ANTIMICROBIAL/ANTIVIRAL PLASTICS AND MOLDED PRODUCTS
A polymer composition for molded products having antimicrobial and/or antiviral properties comprising from 50 wt. % to 99.9 wt. % of a polymer, from 0.01 wt % to 10 wt % zinc, optionally from a zinc compound, less than 1 wt % of a phosphorus compound, and from 0 wt % to 20 wt % molding additives, wherein a molded product formed from the polymer composition demonstrates a Staphylococcus aureus log reduction greater than 1.0, as determined via ISO 22196:2011.
ANTIVIRAL/ANTIMICROBIAL POLYMER COMPOSITIONS, FIBERS, AND PRODUCTS
A polymer composition having antimicrobial properties, the composition comprising from 50 wt % to 99.99 wt % of a polymer, from 10 wppm to 900 wppm of zinc, less than 1000 wppm of phosphorus, and less than 10 wppm coupling agent and/or surfactant, wherein zinc is dispersed within the polymer; and wherein fibers formed from the polymer composition demonstrate a Klebsiella pneumonia log reduction greater than 0.90, as determined via ISO20743:2013 and/or an Escherichia coli log reduction greater than 1.5, as determined via ASTM E3160 (2018).
Flame Retardant Fiber with Preservative and Products Formed Therefrom
A fire-retardant and antimicrobial rayon fiber includes a preservative, e.g., zinc pyrithione, as an antimicrobial agent. The present invention is further directed to a yarn that includes the fire-retardant and antimicrobial rayon fiber. The yarn may be a sheath-and-core yarn where the fire-retardant and antimicrobial rayon fiber is incorporated into the sheath, and the core is formed from fiberglass or any other suitable material. The present invention is further directed to a fabric formed from the fire-retardant and antimicrobial rayon fiber, such as a nonwoven fabric, a knit fabric, or a woven fabric. Moreover, the present invention is further directed to an article such as one or more layers of a mattress or bedding formed from the fire-retardant and antimicrobial rayon fiber.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
An antimicrobial fabric formed of fibers containing nano-sized particles of zinc on a surface of the fibers. Various articles made from the fabric are also disclosed.
ANTIMICROBIAL SILVER FIBER PRODUCTS AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
The present disclosure relates to antimicrobial garments and antimicrobial fabric products that include an antimicrobial fabric, wherein the antimicrobial fabric includes at least one synthetic silver fiber and at least one silver-free fiber, and methods of manufacturing the same. One benefit of the antimicrobial garments and antimicrobial fabric products disclosed herein can be the reduction or elimination of odor or infection causing microbes, including a bacteria, a fungi, and a virus, even after multiple washes.
Antimicrobial and wicking materials and methods of making the same
A method of making a yarn is disclosed. A plurality of fibers is obtained by: preparing a slurry of polymer mixed with water insoluble nanoparticles of electrolytic copper, and extruding the slurry through a spinneret that includes a plurality of holes which impart a generally “X”-shaped cross-section to the plurality of fibers. The plurality of fibers are spun together to form the yarn.
NOVEL YARN AND FABRIC
The present invention aims to provide a fabric useful in production of clothes and other textile articles, in particular for use in a healthcare environment such as hospitals, long term care facilities, etc. The invention relates to a yarn consisting essentially of cotton fibres, hemp fibres, and fibres comprising porous particles, and to threads and fabrics comprising such yarns, as well as to the use of such clothing as healthcare staff uniforms. The yarn and fabric may further include at least one metal wire usable as a temperature sensor.
