A label and related method of manufacture that includes a fabric made of yarn, in either cut individual singles or continuous ribbon format in any length. The yarn includes a fiber that has been recycled, that is recyclable, that is organic, that is biodegradable, and/or that can be derived from a material that is known to be environmentally friendly. The yarn, in one embodiment, may include a fiber defined as “high filament count” material, above the current industry standard of 24 filaments, being in the range of 72 to 96 to 144 filaments or higher per individual yarn, in any denier range of 30 denier to 150 denier thickness, in natural raw white, optical dyed white, or dyed colors. These yarns can be independent of each other.

An antimicrobial fabric formed of fibers containing nano-sized particles of zinc on a surface of the fibers. Various articles made from the fabric are also disclosed.

Fleece fabric and method for producing the same

A fabric having a first side and a second side and comprising weft yarns and warp yarns woven together in pattern. At least some of the weft, or warp, yarns float over a number of warp yarns, or weft yarns, and below a number of warp yarns, or weft yarns, to provide weft, or warp, over portions on the first side and under portions on the second side. The under portions and/or over portions of the yarns form loops. At least some of the yarns that form the loops are conjugate yarns comprising a plurality of filaments that are separable, i.e., splittable into sub-filaments. The loops of the conjugate yarns extend for a length of at least three adjacent warp, or weft, yarns.

STRONG, FLEXIBLE, AND THROMBUS-FREE WOVEN NANOTEXTILE BASED VASCULAR GRAFTS, AND METHOD OF PRODUCTION THEREOF
20210059807 · 2021-03-04 ·

The present invention relates to woven tubular nanotextiles, fabrication thereof using a weaving apparatus, and use thereof in vascular graft applications. The woven nanotextile conduit is 0.1 to 50 mm in diameter and includes a multitude of hierarchically arranged nanofibers. They are made from low strength bundled nanoyarns containing thousands of nanofibers with improved mechanical strength. The weaving apparatus interweaves the warp and weft yarns in longitudinal and transverse directions, resulting in a flexible and strong woven product. The physical and biological properties of the woven nanotextile were significantly enhanced when compared to non-woven nanofibrous form and conventional medical textiles. The nanotextile displayed superhydrophilic behavior in an otherwise hydrophobic material and when implanted as a vascular graft was robust, suturable, kink-proof and non-thrombogenic, with complete endothelialization of the graft luminal area.

A shuttleless weaving loom with a weft insertion device. A transfer device and retaining disc are connected to the weft insertion device such that the retaining disc holds the weft fiber in a fixed orientation as it traverses through the shed of the loom. A plurality of sensors which are part of a microcircuit are mounted on the retaining disc for measurement of the weft fiber's position. A signaling circuit is mounted on the shuttleless loom and an electrical connector is connected to the signaling circuit to allow for external monitoring or display of the weft fiber's position. The measurements from the plurality of sensors are communicated through the electrical connector to an external device such that the position and orientation of the weft fiber can be monitored or displayed as the weft insertion device travels through the shuttleless loom.
