METHODS, SYSTEMS, AND/OR DEVICES FOR THERMAL TREATMENTS
Thermal delivery devices, systems, and/or methods are used to cool and/or to heat a portion of a subject for a purpose of inducing a desired and/or intended outcome in that subject. The subject may be an animal, such as, a vertebrate, a mammal, a primate, and/or a human. Examples of the portion to be thermally treated may be a face, a forehead, a head, a hand, a body, or other portion of the subject. The cooling and/or the heating of the portion (e.g., the face) may be sufficient to induce the desired and/or the intended outcome in that subject. The desired and/or intended outcome may relate to: release of at least one type of neurotransmitter; trigeminal nerve stimulation; (indirect) vagus nerve stimulation; transdermal drug delivery; bypass of the blood-brain-barrier (BBB); aesthetic medicine; cardiovascular; dermatological; ears, nose, and throat (otolaryngological); ophthalmological; neurological; psychological; endocrinological; and/or rheumatological benefits to that subject.
PORTABLE HYDROTHERAPY APPARATUS
This invention relates to a portable bath and hydrotherapy apparatus, utilizing an electric or a battery-operated motor. More particularly, the invention relates to a portable hydrotherapy unit which can be used in conjunction with a bathtub or with other open-topped bodies adapted to be partially filled with a supply of liquid. The improved resultant of the present invention is the utilization of such a motor for hydrotherapy purposes whereby the unit re-circulates the water of the bathtub.
Portable spa
A portable spa is particularly suited for use by an individual. The portable spa includes a housing defining an interior having a pair of rear wheels disposed beneath a rear side edge of the base of the housing. A hinged door provides access to the interior while an aperture and circumferential seal is disposed upon an upper surface of the housing. This enables for a portion of the body of a user to be situated above and exterior to the housing. An adjustable seat, control panel, water reservoir, condensate pan, aromatherapy oil reservoir and electrical heating unit are secured within the housing. The spa also comprises an oven limit safety thermostat to prevent overheating. An exterior switch actuates the spa.
TREATMENT METHOD AND APPARATUS WITH A SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING THE FLOW OF THE GASEOUS MEDIUM
The invention relates to a treatment apparatus comprising an envelope that can be placed on or around a body part of a person such that the envelope has a positioning area (Z) for said body part of the person, the envelope being provided with an inlet (8) for a gaseous medium and an outlet for discharging the gaseous medium present in the envelope. According to the invention, the apparatus comprises a control system (11) for controlling the flow of the gaseous medium in order to direct the gaseous medium entering the envelope via the inlet (8) outside the positioning area (Z), and to homogenise the gaseous medium present in the envelope.
Foot washer
A device for washing the feet and lower legs of a user comprises a tub for receiving the feet and lower legs of the user; at least one footrest located within the tub for supporting the feet of a user during washing; a fluid supply mechanism for introducing fluid into the tub; one or more rotatable transversely extending cleaning assemblies located above the footrest for washing a user's feet; and one or more rotatable upright cleaning assemblies communicating with the fluid supply mechanism for washing one or both lower legs of the user, wherein each rotatable upright cleaning assembly is carried on a guiding mechanism for moving the one or more rotatable upright cleaning assemblies around a portion of the footrest during a lower leg and foot cleaning cycle.
INTEGRATED MANIFOLD AND VALVE ASSEMBLY
An integrated valve and manifold assembly includes a water valve configured to control water flow from one or two valve outlets. At least one of the outlets is coupled to a manifold. In some examples, the manifold is a dual-extrusion manifold having at least one air channel and at least one water conduit, and the water valve has a pair of air channels attached to a periphery of the water valve and configured to couple to the manifold air channels. In examples wherein at least one of the manifolds is a dual-extrusion manifold, a top portion of the assembly includes an air valve configured to control flow of air to air channel(s) of the dual-extrusion manifold. In other examples, the assembly includes a one-outlet or two-outlet water valve configured to couple to water manifolds, with no attached air channels or air valves.
Hydrotherapy soaking chair and method for use
A soaking chair comprising: a bucket seat comprising a seat back, a seat surface, and two armrests; and a support structure; wherein the chair is suitable for use in a shower; and wherein the seat surface comprises a reservoir and a moveable dam panel.
CABIN FOR STEAM-BATHING INDIVIDUALS
The invention relates to a cabin for steam-bathing individuals, into which fresh air is admitted and waste air is discharged during the operation, and steam is thereby admitted at least temporarily and foam is admitted simultaneously or alternately, so that the individuals located in said cabin are bathed simultaneously in steam and in foam. The simultaneous bathing of individuals in steam and in foam provides physical relaxation and cleanses the skin. A method for operating the cabin is also claimed. The foam is thereby admitted into the lower part of the cabin, and the steam is admitted into the upper part of the cabin. In a preferred embodiment of the method, the foam is admitted into the cabin at such a level that the individuals sitting on the seating area of the cabin sit in a carpet of foam.
Wellness Device
This present invention relates to a wellness device in the form of a wet bed or chamber for use by bedridden individuals, preferably in a hospital, nursing or hospice care setting. The bed or chamber is comprised of a fiberglass tub filled with treated water or embryonic-like fluid in which a patient may be positioned. The bed also features several cabinets on the base to store pumps, filters, a heater, and to offer storage, and a repositionable panel for privacy. The embryonic-like fluid moisturizes the patient's skin, and maintains a desired body temperature without the worry of the patient developing bed sores. A catheter may also be attached to the patient to automatically remove bodily waste and transfer the same to a waste container for appropriate disposal.
