Foot and ankle strengthening device
11285068 · 2022-03-29 ·

A foot and ankle strengthening device is an apparatus used to provide stimulus to muscles typically weakened in people who suffer from various foot and ankle problems, particularly plantar fasciitis. A pair of angled surfaces is used to reinforce healthy foot arches. The apparatus comprises a first foot-bracing platform, a second foot-bracing platform, a textured roller, and an elongated balance block. The first foot-bracing platform is a surface against which a user may place a foot for support and appropriate positioning. Similarly, the second foot-bracing platform provides a surface for the user's opposite foot. The textured roller is a generally cylindrical device that enables the user to apply targeted pressure to specific pieces of the user's foot or ankle. The elongated balance block is a generally rectangular prism-shaped protrusion that, in the preferred usage of the apparatus, provides the contact point with the ground.

System including grip assembly and hip sensing assembly for rollator configured to provide feedback to user

An example system coupled to a rollator for monitoring usage of the rollator, includes a grip assembly and/or a hip sensing assembly. The grip assembly includes a first sensor configured to detect a force applied to the first sensor. The hip sensing assembly includes a second sensor configured to measure a distance between the second sensor and a hip of the user positioned with respect to the rollator. A microcontroller is electronically coupled in signal communication with the first sensor, the second sensor, and a feedback circuitry. When the force applied to the first sensor exceeds a first threshold, the microcontroller activates the feedback circuitry to generate a first response indicating that the first threshold has been exceeded. When the distance exceeds a second threshold, the microcontroller activates the feedback circuitry to generate a second response indicating that the second threshold has been exceeded.

MOBILITY DEVICES WITH TRANSITIONAL FOOT PLATES

A mobility device positionable between a powered transport position and a powered wheelchair position is provided. The mobility device includes a frame including a pair of side rails, a pair of wheels on each side rail, a distance between each wheel on a corresponding side rail defining a length of the mobility device, a pair of arms coupled to an end of the pair of side rails, and a seat member positioned between the pair of arms. A pair of foot plates is pivotally attached to the pair of side rails and rotatable between an unfolded position in which the foot plate is horizontal and a folded position in which the foot plate is vertical. Each foot plate having a length at least substantially equal to the length of the mobility device.

Table Mounted Blood Circulation Enhancement Apparatus
20230390139 · 2023-12-07 ·

This invention pertains to therapeutic or medical devices to improve healing, performance, or aesthetics by enhancing blood circulation to regions of the body. Blood circulation is enhanced using gravity by gradually raising and lowering the body member slowly and repeatedly from a level below the heart to a level above the heart.

Recovery from injuries can be a slow and time consuming process, requiring many hours over many days for the injury to heal. After recovery, ongoing treatment may be recommended to improve the overall health of the body part. Therefore, in order to be convenient and non-invasive, the therapeutic or medical device must not be too cumbersome or too invasive to be practical for regular use in a patient's home environment. The more cumbersome and/or invasive the device, the less likely the device will be employed and the less effective it will be in treating an injury.

This invention pertains to a blood circulation enhancement apparatus designed to be contained within a table, such as a living room coffee table, in order to provide convenience, ease-of-use, lateral stability, safety, quietness, and an unobtrusive and noninvasive storage location.

EXTERNAL COUNTERPULSATION SYSTEM AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING SAME

The present invention relates to an external counterpulsation system that senses biosignals to monitor a heart condition and performs external counterpulsation on the basis of the monitored heart condition. The external counterpulsation system includes: a compression device wrapping around limbs of a subject to compress or decompress the wrapped limbs; and a controller configured to calculate compression timing and decompression timing for the external counterpulsation by analyzing an electrocardiogram signal and a blood flow rate signal among the sensed biosignals, and control the compression device on the basis of the calculated compression timing and decompression timing. As described above, the present invention can automatically control compression timing and decompression timing, thus ensuring that, unlike the related art technology, the problem of inconvenience that an operator has to control the compression and decompression timings while continuously monitoring procedure is solved, and that operators without specialized knowledge can use the system easily.
