LAUNDRY APPLIANCE DRUM MOTOR FAULT DETECTION USING A CAMERA AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
20220235506 · 2022-07-28 ·

A laundry appliance includes a camera for determining whether the drum is rotating during operation of the appliance. A controller is operably coupled to the camera. The controller is configured for obtaining one or more images of the drum during operation of the appliance. An artificial intelligence image recognition process is used to perform image classification and determine whether a drum rotation fault has occurred. In the event of a drum rotation fault, operation of the laundry appliance is adjusted.

An electronic apparatus includes a memory storing information on a trained first artificial intelligence model and second artificial intelligence model, a communication interface, and a processor. The processor is configured to, based on weight information of laundry before washing and washing course information being received from a washing machine, input the received weight information of the laundry before washing and the washing course information into the first artificial intelligence model to acquire weight information of the laundry after washing. The processor or is also configured to input the acquired weight information of the laundry after washing and drying course information into the second artificial intelligence model to acquire drying time information for a drying process. The processor is further configured to transmit the acquired drying time information to at least one of the washing machine or a drying machine through the communication interface.

METHOD FOR CONTROLLING WASHING MACHINE

A method of controlling a washing machine that includes a drum rotatably provided in a tub that receives water, at least one nozzle spraying water into the drum, a washing motor rotating the drum, and a circulation pump circulating water within the washing machine, the method including: operating the washing motor to rotate the drum in a first rotational direction while repeatedly alternating between an acceleration and a deceleration of the drum so that laundry in the drum alternates between maintaining contact with an inner surface of the drum during acceleration, and separates from the inner surface of the drum during deceleration; and operating a circulation pump motor in the circulation pump, while the drum rotates in the first rotational direction, to accelerate a pump speed of the circulation pump during the acceleration of the drum, and to decelerate the pump speed during deceleration of the drum.

Laundry treatment apparatus and control method thereof

A laundry treatment apparatus includes a tub that stores wash water; a drum rotatably disposed in the tub; a heater that heats wash water in the tub; a temperature sensor that senses a temperature of wash water; an output unit that displays at least one operation setting of the laundry treatment apparatus; and a controller configured to: determine an initial operation time based on the at least one operation setting; output the initial operation time through the output unit; determine an operation time based on (i) the temperature of wash water sensed by the temperature sensor during a supply of water to the tub and (ii) a level of wash water supplied to the tub; and output the operation time through the output unit.

AUTOMATED CLEANING MACHINE PROCESSING USING SHORTENED CYCLE TIMES

An automated cleaning machine may include one or more short cleaning cycles in which the duration of a cleaning cycle is shortened relative to the duration of a default cleaning cycle. During a short cleaning cycle, other cleaning cycle parameters may also be adjusted to ensure that the articles subjected to the short cleaning cycle are adequately cleaned and sanitized. For example, the wash temperature, rinse temperature, and/or cleaning product amounts or concentrations, may be adjusted to account for the shortened duration of the cleaning cycle. The automated cleaning machine may further include one or more short cycle mode(s) during which short cleaning cycle parameters are used and one or more default cycle mode(s) during which default cleaning cycle parameters are used.

Washing machine and steam washing method thereof

A washing machine and a steam washing method. In order to enable the washing machine to meet a user's demand for refined washing and to achieve the object of reducing washing machine costs and energy consumption, the steam washing method includes: receiving an initial washing program of the washing machine; determining whether a steam washing instruction is received; and if not, performing a corresponding initial washing operation according to the initial washing program, and if so, configuring at least one steam washing program based on the initial washing program, where the washing machine can perform the corresponding steam washing operation according to the steam washing program. The method heats a minimum amount of water each time to generate steam, and determines whether a second heating is performed to generate steam based on the washing effect, so massive heating is avoided if much steam is unnecessary, thus maximizing energy savings.

METHOD OF USING IMAGE RECOGNITION PROCESSES FOR IMPROVED OPERATION OF A LAUNDRY APPLIANCE

A washing machine appliance includes a wash basket that is rotatably mounted within a wash tub and that defines a wash chamber for receiving a load of clothes. A basket speed sensor monitors the speed of the wash basket and a camera assembly is mounted within the wash tub for taking images of the load of clothes during and/or after a wash or rinse cycle. A controller determines the basket speed, adjusts a frame rate of the camera assembly to match the basket speed, obtains a still image from the camera assembly, analyzes the image using a machine learning image recognition process to determine a remaining moisture content (RMC) of the load of clothes, and adjusts at least one operating parameter of the washing machine appliance based on the remaining moisture content, e.g., such as ending the drain cycle when a target RMC is reached.
