Laundry appliances cold water sanitization
A laundry appliance includes a cabinet defining an opening with a laundry vessel mounted within the cabinet. The laundry vessel defines a treatment chamber. The laundry appliance also includes an electrolytic hypochlorous acid generator upstream of the treatment chamber with respect to a flow of cold water through the laundry appliance and a controller. The controller may be configured for and/or a method of sanitizing the laundry appliance may include opening a valve upstream of the electrolytic hypochlorous acid generator to provide the flow of cold water through the laundry appliance, confirming the presence of the cold water in the laundry appliance after opening the valve, and activating the electrolytic hypochlorous acid generator after confirming the presence of the cold water in the laundry appliance.
Washing machine appliance having one or more ventilation features
A washing machine appliance, as provided herein, may include a cabinet, a tub, a wash basket, a ventilation line, and an antimicrobial body. The cabinet may include a front panel defining an opening. The tub may be positioned within the cabinet. The wash basket may be rotatably mounted within the tub. The wash basket may define a wash chamber for receiving articles for washing. The ventilation line may be in fluid communication with the tub. The ventilation line may define an air path from a ventilation inlet within the cabinet. The air path may extend to a ventilation outlet in fluid communication with an ambient environment outside of the cabinet. The antimicrobial body may be positioned along the ventilation line.
LAUNDRY SANITIZATION SYSTEM THAT UTILIZES A HEMISPHERIC ULTRASOUND TRANSDUCER IN COMBINATION WITH AGITATING WASH SYSTEMS
A laundry appliance includes a drum that rotationally operates within a tub. The drum defines a processing space for treating articles. A fluid delivery system selectively delivers wash fluid into the processing space. A hemispheric ultrasonic transducer is positioned proximate a base of the drum. The hemispheric ultrasonic transducer selectively directs waves of an ultrasonic frequency in a hemispheric radiating pattern through the processing space. The waves generate air bubbles within the wash fluid and the waves cause the air bubbles to implode and release micro air jets that are directed into the wash fluid for sanitizing the articles. The micro air jets act on the articles to loosen and remove foreign material therefrom.
LAUNDRY TREATING APPLIANCE HAVING A BULK DISPENSING ASSEMBLY
A laundry treating appliance includes a cabinet defining an interior. A drum is located within the interior and defines a treating chamber. The laundry treating appliance includes a recirculation circuit including a recirculation pump having an inlet and an outlet. The laundry treating appliance further includes a bulk treating chemistry dispenser. A method for rinsing or cleaning the bulk treating chemistry dispenser can be included.
Drum washing machine and method for cleaning tub thereof
A drum washing machine implements a control method, allowing a tub of the drum washing machine to be easily cleaned. The method includes supplying washing water during a first water supplying step to the interior of the tub while a drum rotatably supported in the tub rotates at a water-supplying RPM. A first wash step is executed following completion of the first water supplying step, and includes accelerating rotation of the drum from the water-supplying RPM to a first-wash RPM to that create a circulatory flow in which the washing water falls from the top of opposite ends of the tub while circulating along the inner circumferential surface of the tub due to the rotational power of the drum. A wash draining step is started during the first wash step, and includes turning on the drain pump and controlling the amount of the washing water in the tub.
Method for operating a laundry washing machine using a unit dose package and laundry washing machine
A laundry washing machine and a method for operating the washing machine offer ways to load a unit dose package into a compartment of the washing machine. A control unit controls the washing machine to add water to a compartment having a unit dose package. The tub is then filled with hot or cold water depending on the temperature of the water in the tub, or whether a sanitizing cycle of a washing program has been selected.
Method of operating a washing machine and washing machine
A washing machine has a suds container arranged in a housing, in which container a drum is rotatably mounted, a loading opening arranged on the front of the housing which can be closed by a door having a door inspection glass, a door sealing ring that extends between the housing and the suds container around the loading opening, and a control or regulating device. The washing machine is configured for carrying out a selected washing program including a rinsing phase and a step, in which water is applied to the door inspection glass and the door sealing ring following the rinsing phase to rinse the door inspection glass and the door sealing ring. The washing machine performs a spin cycle after the rinsing phase and before applying water to the door inspection glass and the door sealing ring at a maximum speed as a function of the selected washing program.
UV-treatment in industrial laundry on intermittent washing systems
The present invention relates to a method for washing textiles in an intermittent washing system using UV radiation, to a device for carrying out the method, and to the use of UV radiation, in particular UV-C radiation, in methods for washing textiles in intermittent washing systems.
Door assembly for an appliance
A door assembly for a horizontal axis appliance having a cabinet with a front panel defining an opening and a tub positioned within the cabinet includes a primary door rotatably mounted to the front panel to permit selective access to the opening, a secondary door secured on an exterior side of the primary door, an interior cavity defined between the primary door and the secondary door, one or more electrical components arranged within the interior cavity, and an electrical closing mechanism for securing the primary door and the secondary door in a closed position. Thus, when the primary door and the secondary door are in the closed position, the electrical closing mechanism powers the one or more electrical components.
