Washing machine appliance and motor assembly therefor

A washing machine appliance or drive assembly, as provided herein, may include an agitator drive shaft, a stationary housing, and a motor. The agitator drive shaft may extend along a drive axis. The stationary housing may be disposed about the agitator drive shaft. The motor may be operably connected to the agitator drive shaft to drive rotation thereof. The motor may include a rotor, a stator, a support bushing, and a linear fastener. The rotor may be fixed to the agitator drive shaft. The stator may be rotationally fixed and positioned radially inward from the rotor. The support bushing may be fixed within a wall of the stator. The linear fastener may extend through the support bushing to the stationary housing. The linear fastener may include a bolt head in selective engagement with the support bushing opposite from the stationary housing.

Binary motor for independent operation of multiple components within an appliance

A laundry appliance includes a drum rotationally positioned within a structural cabinet. An impeller is rotationally positioned within the drum. The impeller is selectively and independently operable with respect to the drum. A binary motor has a first motor and a second motor disposed within a common housing. A first drive belt extends between the first motor and the drum. A second drive belt extends between the second motor and the impeller. The first and second motors engage the first and second drive belts on a belt side of the common housing.

Laundry machine

Provided is a washing machine including a rib extending outward from a central portion of a rear portion of a tub. One end of the rib is provided adjacent to the central portion of the tub, the other end of the rib is provided adjacent to an outer side of the tub, and since a width of the one end of the rib is greater than a width of the other end of the rib, thereby maintaining efficient rigidity against stress generated in the rear portion of the tub. Further, in order to secure rigidity against stress due to vibrations generated by a driving motor, an additional rib is included between a side to which the driving motor is coupled and the outer side of the tub, thereby efficiently maintaining rigidity against additional stress.

Washing machine appliance and motor assembly therefor

A washing machine appliance or drive assembly, as provided herein, may include an agitator drive shaft and a motor. The agitator drive shaft may extend along a drive axis from a first end to a second end defang a mounting portion about the drive axis. The motor may be operably connected to the agitator drive shaft to drive rotation thereof. The motor may include a rotor and a stator. The rotor may be fixed to the agitator drive shaft at the second end. The rotor may define a central aperture along the drive axis. The central aperture may define an interior profile complementary to the mounting portion of the agitator drive shaft. The stator may be rotationally fixed and positioned radially inward from the rotor.

Vibration isolator for an appliance motor having internal silencing voids

A laundry appliance includes a cabinet. A rotating drum is positioned within the cabinet. A blower directs process air through an airflow path. The airflow path includes the drum. A motor is coupled to the cabinet via a retaining bracket. The motor includes a drive shaft operably coupled to one of the drum and the blower. A damping ring is positioned about the drive shaft and between the motor and the retaining bracket. Damping apertures are defined within a body of the damping ring. The damping apertures define respective voids that absorb operational vibrations generated by the motor in an activated state.
