A washing machine and method for operating a washing machine having a suds container for holding washing liquid, a non-ribbed drum rotatably mounted in the suds container for holding laundry, a motor for driving the drum, and an open or closed loop control device, wherein the method has a step for rearranging the laundry in the drum. The drum is caused to execute a right-left motion by means of the motor so as to cause a rocking motion of the laundry at a rocking frequency, the predetermined rocking amplitude of which is adjusted such that a laundry fall is implemented in which the laundry falls from a first region of the drum into a second region of the drum.

An electric motor for an appliance includes a rotor coupled with a drive shaft. The rotor includes a plurality of rotor magnets that each define a magnet assembly including a plurality of magnet portions having different magnet pole orientations. A stator is in electromagnetic communication with the rotor. A gap is defined between the stator and the rotor. The stator comprises a stator core. A plurality of stator poles define the gap. Stator magnets are positioned within the stator core and are located to partially define the gap. Each stator magnet defines a pair of flux paths that extend around an outer perimeter of the stator magnet and onto the gap. The different magnet pole orientations of the plurality of rotor magnets operate to direct an effective magnetic flux toward the gap.

A laundry treatment apparatus includes an outer tub to receive wash water, a driving motor having a stator fixed to the outer tub, and a rotor rotated relative to the stator, a washing shaft rotated together with the rotor, and a rotatable spin-drying shaft spaced apart from the rotor. The laundry treatment apparatus also includes an inner tub disposed in the outer tub, a pulsator provided in the inner tub at a lower portion thereof, and a clutch assembly. The inner tub is rotated together with the spin-drying shaft and the pulsator is rotated by the washing shaft. The clutch assembly selects one of a plurality of modes including i) at least one restriction mode of restricting the spin-drying shaft to the rotor or the outer tub and ii) a free mode of not restricting the spin-drying shaft to the rotor and the outer tub.

A LAUNDRY WASHING MACHINE

A laundry washing machine having a cabinet, a washing tub, a washing drum rotatable within the tub and having a tubular mantle that is closed, at least partially, by a flange facing a closed end of the tub. A shaft protrudes from the flange through the closed wall. A driving system comprising an operating module is mounted on the tub, and an operated module is fixed to the free shaft end, the operating module rotates the operated module relative to the washing tub. One or more electric loads are mounted in/on the washing drum. A wireless power transmitter unit is mounted to the tub and arranged for wireless transmitting electric power to a wireless power receiver unit configured to supply electric power to the one or more electric loads. The wireless power receiver unit is mounted in/on the operated module.

METHOD FOR OPERATING AN AUTOMATIC WASHING MACHINE, AND AUTOMATIC WASHING MACHINE
20230141282 · 2023-05-11 ·

A washing machine and method for operating a washing machine having a suds container and a non-ribbed drum. During rotation of the drum in a subcritical rotational speed range, the method includes determining an average value, a minimum, and a maximum of an oscillation of a physical variable relating to the drum or the motor, forming an overall average value from the determined average values, subtracting the overall average value formed from the corresponding minimum determined per oscillation and the corresponding maximum determined per oscillation to calculate a maximum value and a minimum value per oscillation, respectively. In each case an amount is formed from the respective calculated maximum value and an amount is formed from the respective calculated minimum value, a standard deviation from the amounts is determined, and a loading situation where laundry is rolling in the drum is determined based on the determined standard deviation.
