A DEVICE AND METHOD TO INDUCE INTERFERENTIAL BEAT VIBRATIONS AND FREQUENCIES INTO THE BODY
This patent relates to the field of peripheral sensorimotor stimulation for the relief of symptoms and physical signs of distress including pain and anxiety and more specifically to addiction withdrawal. Peripheral stimulation of mechanoreceptors has been showed in a unique amplitude and frequency range to induce central effects of release of dopamine with a prolonged duration beyond stimulation in a model of addiction. Such stimulation can serve as an effective bridge during withdrawal from known addicting substances, including chemicals and behaviors, thus mitigating symptoms and potentially facilitating the cessation of drugs or substance seeking behavior. Interferential beat frequencies can be induced into the body using separately located sources of vibration to localize maxima and minima of stimulation. A conforming seat consisting of two separately driven halves induces a traveling wave due to interference or formation of beat frequencies which are driven in the therapeutic range to mitigate the symptoms and signs of withdrawal. Further, the beat frequencies can be monitored by a transducer to assure compliance of a treatment regimen and as a trigger pattern for focused exercises.
Pneumatic somatosensory stimulation device and method
A device for providing tactile stimulation of a subject via a pulse of compressible fluid, typically for medical diagnostic and therapeutic applications. The device preferably includes a high pressure fluid source and a low pressure fluid source. A pressure valve selectively connects the pressure sources to an outlet conduit. The outlet conduit includes an applicator for directing pulses against the skin of a subject. The pulses may be applied via one applicator or a plurality of applicators, and may be applied in one pattern or several patterns at various application sites. A method of providing tactile stimulation is also disclosed.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TREATING A PATIENT USING VIBRATION STIMULI, TACTILE STIMULI AND/OR THERMAL STIMULI
A device and method are provided for treating a patient with vibration and/or tactile and/or thermal stimuli. The device includes first and second stimulating units for generating first and second stimuli respectively. The stimuli are vibration and/or tactile and/or thermal stimuli, and each of the stimuli is repeated on average at a frequency of 1 to 60 Hz. The stimuli are generated partly at different times.
MASSAGE TOY FOR SEXUAL STIMULATION
The invention relates to a massage toy (1) for stimulation of a sexual organ, the massage toy (1) comprising at least the following components:—A first toy member (11) of the massage toy (1), wherein the first toy member (11) comprises a first rod element (10) extending along a first rotation axis (101), wherein the first rod element (10) is arranged rotatably on the first rotation axis (101);—A second toy member (21) of the massage toy (1), wherein the second toy member (21) comprises a second rod element (20) extending along a second rotation axis (102), wherein the second rod element (20) is arranged rotatably on the second rotation axis (102);—A hinge assembly (2, 2a, 2b) that connects the first toy member (11) with the second toy member (21) such that the first and the second toy member (11, 21) can be swiveled around a swivel axis (100) of the hinge assembly (2, 2a, 2b), wherein the hinge assembly (2, 2a, 2b) is configured to adopt an adjustable swivel angle (300), such that a distance between the first rotation axis (101) and the second rotation axis (102) is adjustable by adjusting the swivel angle (300),—A motor assembly (5, 5a) configured to rotate the first rod element (10) around the first rotation axis (101) and to rotate the second rod element (20) around the second rotation axis (102). The invention further relates to a computer program for operating the massage toy (1).
Systems and methods for stimulating swallowing
A device includes a first vibrational transducer and a second vibrational transducer. The first vibrational transducer has a first vibrating property. The second vibrotactile stimulator has a second vibrating property different than the first vibrating property. A collar may be configured to position the first vibrational transducer and the second vibrational transducer over a neck of a subject. A method for stimulating swallowing in a subject includes applying a first vibrotactile stimulation and applying a second vibrotactile stimulation to a throat area of the subject. The first vibrotactile stimulation has a first vibrating property and the second vibrotactile stimulation has a second vibrating property different than the first vibrating property. Example vibrating properties include vibrating frequency, vibrating frequency range, wave shape, continuousness, frequency phase, and direction of mechanical force.
