Device, System and Method for Reducing Headache Pain
A device for stimulating at least one cranial nerve and/or spinal nerve is described. The device includes a vibratory motor, and an earpiece, wherein the earpiece is molded substantially to fit within the external ear canal and contacting the concha of a subject's ear. A method of reducing migraine headache and trigeminal neuropathy pain is also described. The method includes positioning a vibratory earpiece within an ear of a subject, applying vibrational energy to at least a portion of the skin of at least one of the auditory canal, auricle and concha of the ear, thereby stimulating at least one sensory fiber of at least one of cranial nerve 5, cranial nerve 7, cranial nerve 9, cranial nerve 10, spinal nerve C2, and spinal nerve C3. A method to normalize breathing, normalize blood pressure, induce sleep, increase salivation, and improve vertigo, nausea, and visual dysfunction accompanying migraine is also described.
Method for activating massage units in a seat, control device for carrying out said method, and seat arrangement
A vehicle seat arrangement, a control device in the seat arrangement, and a method for activating a plurality of massage units integrated in a vehicle seat, including the following steps: playing back an acoustic entertainment signal by means of a playback device of a vehicle; and controlling the plurality of massage units based on the acoustic entertainment signal by means of the control device; in which at least one of the plurality of massage units is activated so as to vibrate in a frequency range, in which the at least one of the plurality of massage units only brings about noise emission which is externally imperceptible to a person other than a person sitting on the vehicle seat.
Human performance enhancement method and apparatus using upward travelling wave of electrical stimuli
A human body support has a plurality of electrodes arranged in an array and spaced longitudinally with respect to the human body. The array extends from an inferior position to a more superior position along the body. A sensor measures a parameter of the human body that is capable of indicating the presence of drowsiness. A controller has an input connected to the sensor for receiving a signal representing the sensed parameter and has outputs connected to each of the electrodes. The controller detects whether the sensed parameter is within a range indicating the presence of drowsiness and applies a wave of electrical stimuli against the human body in response to detection of a sensed parameter within the range. The electrical stimuli cause periodic tightening and relaxing of proximate muscles as the wave progresses in a direction from an inferior location on the human body toward a more superior location.
Wearable apparatus for the treatment or prevention of osteopenia and osteoporosis
A wearable apparatus for the treatment or prevention of osteopenia or osteoporosis, stimulating bone growth, preserving or improving bone mineral density, and inhibiting adipogenesis is disclosed where the apparatus may generally comprise one or more vibrating elements configured for imparting repeated mechanical loads to the hip, femur, and/or spine of an individual at a frequency and acceleration sufficient for therapeutic effect. These vibrating elements may be secured to the upper body of an individual via one or more respective securing mechanisms, where the securing mechanisms are configured to position the one or more vibrating elements in a direction lateral to the individual, and the position, tension, and efficacy of these vibrating elements may be monitored and/or regulated by one or more accelerometers.
COMPRESSIVE HEATING SYSTEM WITH ACTIVE FEEDBACK CONTROL FOR MEDICAL APPLICATION
A system for thermal compression therapy comprises at least one thermal compression device including one or more compression bladders, the one of more compression bladders configured to be selectively expandable in response to introduction of fluids therein and a thermal conductive member disposed about the one or more compression bladders. The thermal conductive member includes a thermal conductive layer configured to distribute heat uniformly across an area of the limb of the patient.
ANTI-FATIGUE SEATING SYSTEM
A seating system includes a configurable electro-pneumatic mechanical device designed to be installed on any seat that is occupied for an extended period. The seating system incorporates a sequential stimulus process that is programmable and configurable to a user's needs. The seating system is adaptable and can be used in automotive, commercial vehicles, office chairs, lounging chairs, gaming chairs, hospitals, waiting rooms, theaters, schools, aviation and many military environments. In various embodiments, this invention is a completely new seating experience. The seating system, when added to any chair, combats static seating fatigue due to the absence of muscular contraction.
Walking assistance robot and method of controlling the walking assistance robot
Disclosed are a walking assistance robot and a method of controlling the walking assistance robot. The control method includes collecting motion information by sensing or measuring a motion of at least one joint, determining a motion state of the at least one joint based on the sensed or measured motion of the at least one joint, and controlling the walking assistance robot based on the determined motion state of the at least one joint.
A Wearable Muscle Tendon Vibration Device for Rehabilitation
A wearable rehabilitation device features a wearable support sized and shaped for worn fitting thereof over a body part of a patient, one or more vibratory stimulators on the wearable support that are positioned and operable to stimulate muscle tendon tissue of said body part of the patient, and one or more accelerometers on the wearable support configured to generate output signals responsive to vibration of said one or more vibratory stimulators. A controller compares output signals from the accelerometer against a targeted vibrational frequency, and adjusts operating conditions of the stimulator based on detected disagreement to achieve the targeted frequency for optimal therapeutic effect.
FLUIDIC METHODS AND DEVICES
A device for use by an individual for sexual pleasure varying in form, i.e. shape, during its use and allowing for the user to select multiple variations of form either discretely or in combination and for these dynamic variations to be controllable simultaneously and interchangeably while being transparent to the normal use of the device, including the ability to insert, withdraw, rotate, and actuate the variable features manually or remotely. According to embodiments of the invention localized and global variations of devices are implemented using fluidics and electromagnetic pumps/valves wherein a fluid is employed such that controlling the pressure of the fluid results in the movement of an element within the device or the expansion/contraction of an element within the device.
Mat transmission structure
A mat transmission structure includes a first body, multiple first operation units, and a power unit. The first body is provided with a first recess and multiple first pivot portions. Each of the first operation units is pivotally mounted on each of the first pivot portions. Each of the first operation units includes a rod, multiple first operation members, and a first driving member. The rod is provided with a first fitting portion, two first pivoting sections, and a first mounting portion. Each of the first operation members is provided with a first surface and a second fitting portion. The first driving member is mounted on the first mounting portion. The power unit drives the first driving member of each of the first operation units such that each of the first operation units is rotated in the first recess.
