A steam iron includes an ironing unit and a water inlet unit. The ironing unit includes an ironing plate and a heating member disposed for heating the ironing plate. The ironing plate has a first heating space, a second heating space isolated from the first heating space, a first steam hole in fluid communication with the first heating space, and a plurality of second steam holes in fluid communication with the second heating space. The steam iron is operable to convert between a power mode, where water is only introduced from the water inlet unit into the first heating space, and a regular mode, where water is introduced from the water inlet unit into the first and second heating spaces.

Garment steaming device

A garment steaming device includes a steam generator (20) having a heater (22) and an ironing surface (32) against which a fabric of a garment is locatable. An intermediate section (50) is disposed between the steam generator and the ironing surface to transfer heat from the steam generator to the ironing surface so that the ironing surface is indirectly heated by the steam generator via the intermediate section. The operating temperature of the ironing surface is not user selectable during use. Furthermore, the intermediate section is configured to have a thermal transmittance so that, during use, heat transfer from the steam generator to the ironing surface is controlled and the temperature of the ironing surface is maintained between 90 C. and 155 C. when the ironing surface is located against a fabric in each of a stationary condition and a moving condition.

The present application relates to a hand-held garment steamer (1) comprising a steam generating chamber (5) having a surface (9) and a heater (10) to heat the surface (9) such that water fed onto the surface (9) is converted into steam. The hand-held garment steamer (1) further comprises a scale collection chamber (14) having an opening (25). The surface (9) and opening (25) are positioned relative to each other and configured so that when the garment steamer (1) is in a first orientation (A) in which the surface (9) extends downwardly away from the opening (25), water fed onto the surface (9) flows away from the opening (25) to be evaporated from the surface (9). When the garment steamer (1) is in a second orientation (B) in which the surface (9) extends downwardly towards the opening (25), scale dislodged from the surface (9) falls into the scale collection chamber (14) through the opening (25). The scale collection chamber (14) is located below the steam generating chamber (5) in both the first orientation (A) and the second orientation (B). The present application also relates to a garment steaming system (40) comprising the hand-held garment steamer (1).
