Robotic laundry devices and methods of use
Devices, systems, and methods for repositioning a deformable laundry article are described. For example, a robotic device includes a conveyor configured to transfer the deformable laundry article outside of a work volume, two or more lifters including grippers individually anchored about the perimeter of the work volume, two or more sensors disposed at fixed locations about the work volume, and a memory storing data indicative of repositioned deformable laundry articles. A controller is in operative communication with the memory, the two or more sensors, and the two or more lifters. The controller is configured to receive a signal from the sensors, identify grip points on the deformable laundry article suspended above the conveyor, instruct a lifter to grip and lift an identified grip point to the suspension height, determine whether the deformable laundry article is repositioned, and instruct the lifters to lower the repositioned deformable laundry article onto the conveyor.

A shirt folding apparatus, comprising a substantially rectangular upper mat, a substantially rectangular lower mat, a plurality of substantially rectangular plates, said plates are arranged in three columns each with three plates and three rows each with three plates, wherein the three columns are a Western Column, Center Column, and Eastern Column, wherein the three rows are a Northern Row, Center Row, and Southern Row, wherein the total surface area of said plates is much less than the surface area of either the upper or lower mats such that when laid out in rows and columns, a gap exists between the plates where the shirt folding apparatus can be folded, wherein said plurality of plates is laminated between said upper and lower mats using an adhesive, wherein said shirt folding apparatus is bounded by four edges that includes a Northern Edge, Eastern Edge, Southern Edge, and Western Edge, a plurality of grid elements, wherein a grid element is approximated by the local region of said shirt folding apparatus fully containing the nearest plate.
Domestic compact article folding machine having holding conveyors and folding method therefor
A domestic compact article folding machine (10) configured for autonomous article folding includes first, second and third primary conveyors (CI, C2, C3), at least two of which in a stacked formation, each includes two primary rollers (32) and a primary belt (34) which extends thereabout. First and second holding conveyors (U1, U2), each includes at least three holding rollers (32) and a holding belt (34) which extends thereabout. Each of the holding conveyors engages each of the first and second primary conveyors respectively. The folding machine further includes at least a first width-folder (38) which is configured for creating a width-fold in the article and at least a first length-folder (64) which is configured for creating a length-fold in the article.
WIDTH-FOLDING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CREATING WIDTH-FOLDS IN AN ARTICLE OF LAUNDRY
A width folder is configured for width-folding an article of laundry, and especially lateral excess portions thereof. The width folder includes male and female members stacked along a vertical direction. The male member includes two opposite first folding edges which extend along a laundry article motion direction perpendicular to the vertical direction and further includes opposite male top and bottom surfaces each of which extends between the first folding edges. The female member being located at least partially beneath the male member and includes two opposite second folding edges which converge in the motion direction. The female member further includes opposite female top and bottom surfaces. The female member further includes opposite folding protrusions which extend outwardly therefrom in a direction away from the female top surface.

AUTONOMOUS LAUNDRY FOLDING DEVICE AND METHODS OF USE
Devices, systems, and methods for autonomously folding a deformable laundry article are described. A folding device includes a rotatable platform configured to receive the article. A clamp rod raises and lowers from a surface of the platform and slidably moves parallel to the surface. A clamp drive is configured to operate the clamp rod to clamp the article to the surface. A table drive rotates the platform such that the clamp rod aligns with a fold line for the deformable article. A movable sweep rod disposed parallel to the clamp rod raises and lowers from the surface of the rotatable platform, slidably moves parallel to the surface, slides under an unclamped portion of the article, lifts the unclamped portion above the clamp rod, passes the unclamped portion over the clamp rod, and lowers the free end to a resting position atop another portion of the article.
AUTONOMOUS LAUNDRY FOLDING DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS OF USE
A device for autonomously folding a deformable article includes a rotatable platform configured to receive the deformable article and at least one movable elongation in operable communication with at least one elongation drive. The at least one movable elongation is configured to raise and lower from the surface of the rotatable platform, move parallel to the surface, and manipulate the deformable article to thereby fold the deformable article at one of the one or more fold lines. The device includes a table drive configured to rotate the rotatable platform about a central axis such that the at least one elongation aligns with one of the one or more fold lines, and at least one sensor configured to detect the deformable article position and orientation on the rotatable platform. A controller is in operable communication with the at least one elongation drive, the table drive, and the at least one sensor.
ROBOTIC LAUNDRY DEVICES AND METHODS OF USE
A robotic system includes a movable platform disposed at a bottom of a work volume, the movable platform being configured to transit outside the work volume, at least three lifters disposed about a perimeter of the work volume, two or more sensors disposed at fixed locations about the work volume, and a memory including a neural network. A controller is in operative communication with the memory, the two or more sensors, and the lifters. The controller is configured to receive output signals from the two or more sensors, determine, based processing on the received signals with the neural network, whether the deformable laundry article suspended by two lifters is repositioned, and instruct, based on a determination of the deformable laundry article being repositioned, the lifters to lower the repositioned deformable laundry article onto the movable platform.

Provided is automatic ironing apparatus comprising a housing defining a passage therethrough, a guiding arrangement configured to guide an article of clothing through the passage, and a pre-treatment assembly within the housing and configured to pre-treat the article of clothing as the article is guided through the passage. Also included is a primary treatment assembly within the housing and configured to treat the article of clothing as the article is guided through the passage, as well as a post-treatment assembly configured to post-treat the article of clothing as the article is guided through the passage. Apparatus also includes a controller configured to control the guiding arrangement and treatment assemblies, as well as energizing means configured to provide electrical energy to the controller, guiding arrangement and treatment assemblies, wherein each treatment facilitates ironing of the article of clothing as the article is guided through the passage.
