The novelty introduced here is the addition of the foldable seat pads and safety legs to the medical walker to protect the user from falling down in an uncontrollable situation or fatigue condition, wherein falling down and its resulting traumatic injuries is a serious concern for the users who are in the low-energy state, or are without the accompany of a caring attendance. This invention addresses this concern. There is a wide variety of operation for this invention; this walker can be used in any private or public place such as private homes, hospitals, nursing homes, medical care centers, and alike.
ANTI-TIPPING APPARATUS FOR WALKERS
Systems and methods are disclosed for preventing tipping of a walking aid including a sensor configured to detect an angle of tilt in a forward direction of a walking aid, an actuator configured to determine whether the angle of tilt crosses a pre-set threshold, and a retractable support that prevents tipping of the walking aid, wherein the actuator causes the retractable support to extend from the walking aid in the forward direction to limit the tilt of the walking aid when the actuator determines that the angle of tilt crosses the pre-set threshold.
JOINT MOVEMENT THERAPY AND ASSISTIVE DEVICE SYSTEM AND METHOD
A joint movement therapy and assistive device system. The system includes a torque profile device having a plurality of connecting components, a longitudinal axis, and a center. Each connecting component of the plurality of connecting components is disposed at a selected distance relative to the center and a selected angle relative to the longitudinal axis. The system also includes at least one segment end and a plurality of tensioning components removable secured to the plurality of connecting components of the torque profile device and the at least one segment end. The plurality of tensioning components forms an additive torque profile when coupled between the torque profile device and the at least one segment end.
ROUND STEAMHEAD FOR A STEAM GENERATOR
The steamhead includes a dispensing chamber having an inlet connected to receive steam from a steam generator located outside of the steam bath enclosure and a steam outlet. The steamhead is mounted between studs which support the enclosure wall by a bracket that is adjustable to accommodate studs of different spacing. A hollow cylindrical member extends from the front of the chamber in alignment with the steam outlet. A first part is telescopically received within the hollow member to accommodate enclosure walls of various thicknesses. A flange extends from the rim of the first part to overlap the chamber edge which defines the steam outlet. A second part having a round, concave surface facing the interior of the enclosure is rotatably mounted within the first part for controlling the flow of steam through the steam passageway. The chamber includes baffles for reducing the force of the emitted steam.
CHAIR, PRESSING DEVICE
The invention relates to a chair for accommodating a person. The chair includes an upper body section having an upper body contact surface adapted or adaptable to at least parts of a front of a torso or a rear of a torso of a person placed on the chair, and a lower body section having a lower body contact surface adapted or adaptable to at least parts of at least a front of a thigh of the person, wherein the upper body section and the lower body section are arranged or arrangeable and fixable in a position relative to each other such that the upper body contact surface and the lower body contact surface cause a hyperextension posture of the hip joint of the person with a predetermined hyperextension angle. By forming the hyperextension angle of the hip on the chair, shortening of the anterior thigh and hip muscles can be counteracted. Also disclosed are a pressing device for application to the human body, which is adapted for use on a chair and which includes one or more pressure units each having at least one pressure head adapted to apply local or point pressure at a predetermined pressure location on the body of a person accommodated on the chair, and a chair having such a pressing device.
Method and apparatus for a passive knee joint
An artificial knee is configured to be worn by a person. Artificial knees include a thigh link configured to move in unison with a thigh of the person, and a shank link configured to be coupled to the thigh link. Artificial knees include a compression spring coupled to the thigh link at a first end of the compression spring, the compression spring configured to be coupled to the shank link at a second end of the compression spring. The compression spring is configured to provide an extension torque between the thigh link and the shank link during a first range of motion of the thigh link and the shank link relative to each other. The compression spring is configured to provide a flexion torque between the thigh link and the shank link during a second range of motion of the thigh link and the shank link relative to each other.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR ASSISTING WITH MOBILIZING A JOINT
Device (100) for assisting with mobilizing a joint (3) comprising a first and a second guiding element, the first flexible guiding element (102) being positioned on one of the segments (4), having a first pair of cable passages arranged on the side of the rear face (52) and on the side of the front face (54), the second flexible guiding element (104) being positioned on the other of the segments (5), having a first pair of cable passages, arranged on the side of the rear face (52) and on the side of the front face (54), the second guiding element further comprising a pair of anchoring points arranged on the side of the front face (52) and on the side of the rear face (54), a flexible support part on which a pair of actuators (M11, M12) associated with a pair of winders are arranged, to cause the associated winder to turn in the winding direction and the unwinding direction, and a pair of cables (C11, C12) extending from the winders, up to the anchoring points of the second guiding element, passing through the cable passages of the first pair of cable passages of the first and second guiding elements.
APPARATUS FOR TONING A PERSON'S BUTTOCKS
An apparatus for toning an exerciser's buttocks comprises, a base having a front end region and a rear end region; a seat guide; and a force-transmitting mechanism for supporting the seat guide on the base for guided movement under tension from a raised position, along an forward inclined trajectory in which the seat guide is continuously lowered in elevation to a lowered position. The exerciser sits on the seat guide and controls its downward and upward motion by tensioning and thereby exercising the users gluteus maximus, medius, and gluteus minimus muscles.
Compression device especially for preventing deep vein thrombosis
